Breaking: Dyllón Burnside, Keith David, Luke James & More to Star in THOUGHTS OF A COLORED MAN; Opening on Broadway on October 31

BREAKING NEWS: One of the most powerful new plays set to make its Broadway debut this Fall is Kenan Scott II’s Thoughts Of A Colored Man. It has just been announced that the production’s cast and performance timeline has been set.

Under the direction of Steve H. Broadnax III, the cast is set to star….

Dyllón Burnside (TV’s Pose),
Bryan Terrell Clark (Broadway’s Hamilton),
Da’Vinchi (TV’s upcoming Black Mafia Family),
Grammy nominee Luke James (TV’s The Chi),
Tony nominee Forrest McClendon (The Scottsboro Boys),
Grammy nominee Tristan “Mack” Wilds (TV’s The Wire),
and
Tony nominee and Emmy winner Keith David.

THOUGHTS OF A COLORED MAN will play a strictly limited engagement at Broadway’s John Golden Theatre. Previews will begin on October 1st, 2021 the official Opening Night is set for October 31st, 2021, and will run through March 20th, 2022.

Tickets go on sale beginning June 18th, 2021.

Riverdance the Show – Live From New York City, 1996

Over the years, there have been unforgettable works of Live Theater that have come to Broadway from all around the world. For over 25 years, there has been a breathtaking theatrical spectacular which became an International phenomenon. That show was called Riverdance.

In case anyone may not know, this show is a celebration of traditional Irish music & dance…..all done with a breathtaking visual presentation including lighting and projections. It features score by Bill Whelan. Notable songs include REEL AROUND THE SUN, THE HEART’S CRY, CLOUDSONG, the title song RIVERDANCE, HEARTLAND, and more. Debra Messing Joins Jason Robert Brown’s 13 Film Adaptation

BREAKING NEWS: Emmy Award winner Debra Messing (TV’s Will & Grace and Smash along with coming to Broadway next year in Birthday Candles) has been tapped to join the cast of Netflix‘s upcoming movie musical adaptation of Jason Robert Brown‘s 13.

In the new Tamra Davis directed film, Messing will play “Mrs, Goldman”, the newly divorced mother of the musical’s central character “Evan” (played by Eli Golden). This is a newly created role for this film. “Mrs. Goldman” is mentioned various times throughout the musical …. she gets “Evan” away from, divorces his father, and together move out to Indiana.

13 is currently in rehearsals. Cameras start rolling next month in Toronto, Canada.

In celebration of the upcoming new One Hundred and One Dalmatians dark prequel film Cruella on Disney+ out this Friday, check out Broadway favorite Taylor Iman Jones (Head Over Heels and soon to star in the new Broadway bound The Devil Wears Prada) in a brand new music video on the iconic song CRUELLA DE VIL. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Rice-Thomson, it features Jones in her own take on the iconic Fashion Loving and Animal Killing villian.

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?!!!! It’s Broadway Barks Day!!!! Join in the celebration as our Theater community teams up with various Animal Shelters in helping Dogs & Cats get adopted into brighter, happy, healthy, and safe new homes.

Because we’re still in our homes and Live Theater still shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will once again be done as the BROADWAY BARKS ACROSS AMERICA virtual livestream instead of its usual in-person live gathering in Shubert Alley.

Hosted by its co-founder and Tony winning ICONIC legend herself Bernadette Peters, it will feature an exciting lineup of adoptable animals presented by some familiar and favorite Broadway stars including….
