BREAKING NEWS: The legendary star of stage and screen Mary Tyler Moore passed away due to illness at the age of 80 today.
Moore was well known mainly for her work on television including “”The Dick Van Dyke Show and her very own “Mary Tyler Moore Show”. She is a 3 time Golden Globe winner, 7 time Emmy winner, a Tony winner, and an Oscar nominee.
Moore’s work on Broadway includes the shorten lived play “Whose Life Is It Anyway”?
Besides wowing audiences on stage and screen, Mary is the co-founder of the annual Broadway Barks event alongside Bernadette Peters. The event is held every year in Shubert Alley where the Broadway community comes together putting on an animal shelter for Dogs, Cats, and more find homes. I’m sure this year’s event, there will be a tribute portion and a moment of silence to honor this legendary woman.
RIP Mary. You will be missed and your legacy will live on.

The revival of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (based on the acclaimed New York City Center semi-staged production) will be a limited 10 week engagement. Previews will begin February 11th, 2017, Opening Night will be February 23rd, 2017, and will run till April 23rd, 2017.

12 years ago today, the shorten lived musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s iconic novella Little Women premiered on Broadway at the Virginia Theatre (now known as the August Wilson Theatre). The Broadway production which starred Tony winner Sutton Foster as Jo and Maureen McGovern as Marmee played after 137 performances. The show had a huge cult following even after it ended it’s Broadway run. LITTLE WOMEN is currently being performed in schools, community, and regional Theatres.
The musical version was well known for it’s iconic signature ASTONISHING (as seen in this video performed by Foster).
