THE WORLD FELL IN LOVE with one of the most talked about new Royal musicals that was just getting started on Broadway…. Diana: A True Musical Story. It has just been announced that BOTH the show will be returning to Broadway and will be professionally captured on film for Netflix.

According to Actors' Equity Association (the union for Live Theater actors and stage managers), they approved a safety plan for the show in order to reunite everyone in the cast with rehearsing the show, recording the cast album, and to be back on the stage of Broadway's Longacre Theatre without a live audience for filming. The release of the filmed performance itself is expecting to be released within 2021.

No word has been said on when the show will actually resume preview performances. However, it has been revealed that the new official Opening Night is set for May 25th, 2021.

DIANA began its Broadway previews on March 2nd, 2020. It ran for only for a week and a half due to all of Live Theater being shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 12th, 2020. It was originally scheduled to open on March 31st, 2020 at Broadway's Longacre Theatre.

In case anyone may not be familiar or remember what DIANA is all about, it centers on the life of "Diana, Princess of Wales". It follows her journey from Kindergarten Teacher, marrying "Charles, Prince of Wales", and their scandalous divorce. The musical reunites the creative masterminds by the Tony winning smash hits Memphis and Come From Away. It features an original score and book by Joe DiPietro and Bon Jovi's David Bryan. Under the direction of Christopher Ashley, the cast is led by…

Broadway and West End star Jeanna de Waal in the titular role of "Princess Diana",

Roe Hartrampf in his Broadway Debut as "Prince Charles",

Broadway favorite Erin Davie as "Camilla Parker Bowles",

2 time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye as "Queen Elizabeth",

and more.

The show originally had its world premiere in 2019 at La Jolla Playhouse before going through another full year of early development labs in gearing the show for Broadway.

Thoughts.

Who is excited?!!!
