Every Halloween, NBC's longtime morning news and talk show The Today Show always put together a fun themed year dressing up in costumes. This year, they decided to take on our very own Broadway Theater scene!!! All of this is a special tribute to show their love for Broadway and saying how much they (just like all of us) miss it during this continued time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Craig Melvin and weatherman himself Al Roker (who also appeared on Broadway as "Old Joe" in Waitress) taking on the title role and "King George III" in the Award winning hottest ticket Hamilton performing a medley of the opening number ALEXANDER HAMILTON, the show's anthem MY SHOT, & YOU'LL BE BACK,
Jenna Bush Hager as "Grizabella: The Glamour Cat" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary hit Cats the Musical performing the show's signature theme MEMORY,
Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb taking on everyone's favorite THRILLIFYING witches themselves "Elphaba" and "Glinda" from WICKED (which today also marks the show's 17th Anniversary of its Broadway debut) with a medley of POPULAR and the show's anthem DEFYING GRAVITY.
Watching this is making us miss the magic of Broadway and Live Theater every day. We cannot wait for it to return in 2021!!!
