Do we go inside Broadway theatres?
On most Broadway walking tours, guests may enter selected theatre lobbies or neighborhood businesses when access is available. Backstage areas are not included because of theatre and union restrictions. The Greenwich Village Piano Bar Pub Crawl includes stops inside participating venues.
Do I need to make a reservation and purchase tickets in advance?
YES! Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable. It also allows us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours. At this point no late arrivals will be accepted as the tour depends on guaranteed attendance. Groups of 6 or more MUST contact us before reserving our public tours. We are always available to provide groups with a private group tour but reservations and payment are required. Tickets may be purchased either online or by phone with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
Does the tour operate every day?
All of our tours are listed on the schedule page and will operate on those scheduled days to registered participants. Please note, you must reserve tickets before midnight to guarantee a spot on the tour! What is your cancellation, rescheduling, or refund policy?

All tickets are final sale. The show must go on! Dress appropriately for the conditions. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

However, extreme weather (blizzards, prolonged heavy rain, etc) may cancel or postpone the tour. In the event of the aforementioned unsafe weather or if we have to cancel, tours are rescheduled for another mutually convenient date at no additional charge. We will try to let you know at least two hours before by telephone and/or on-line. In addition, that is why you should give us your cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses.

If you as an individual are a no show or you go to the wrong address, you may re-book within 30 days but no refund will be given. This does not apply to vouchers.

Vouchers are good until the day of expiration.

No refunds will be given.

How much walking is involved and what is the pace?
The tour covers approximately 1/2 a mile over a 1.5-2 hour period. We walk at a leisurely pace and stop frequently to discuss interesting points along the way. We do recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Keep in mind that you are on your feet for about 2 hours.
How long is the tour?

It depends on the tour. Most tours are 90 minutes- 2 hours. Specialty tours and private tours can be arranged to an agreed upon time frame in advance.

Where does the tour take place?

Most of our tours will venture along Broadway and the Times Square area but we now offer tours in other areas of the city. The theaters of the “Great White Way” are just some of the sights you will see! Anywhere we go your guide will be introducing you to history and culture of the neighborhoods you visit.

Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
While not required, gratuities are accepted and always appreciated by the tour guides. Tour guides are paid for their time but if you really enjoyed the experience why not tip what you feel is fair. Typically the going rate is $5 – $10 per person in your party.
How will I recognize the tour guide?

Our tour guides will be holding a sign that says New York Broadway Tours.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Gift certificates are available for purchase and make great gifts for family and friends. If you have any questions about purchasing or redeeming gift certificates, please visit our gift certificates page.
Is the tour suitable for children? What type of ticket should I purchase for a very young child?
Children are welcome on our tours. We provide student pricing for high school and college students whenever a private tour is request, and children 10 and under are free!
Do the tours end where they start?
No. Each tour starts and ends at a different location. For a map and directions from the tour, including mass transit, please click on the event map and directions link.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes, private tours are available. To inquire about booking a private tour, please visit our contact page.
Are there bathrooms along the way?
Due to the short length of the tour we unfortunately won?t have time to accommodate any extra stops along the way. We advise you to use the restroom prior to meeting the tour.
Will locals enjoy the tour as well or is it mostly for tourists?
Absolutely! While you may be familiar with our route and some of the stops, you will also have the opportunity to discover new things about the wonderful city you live in! Additionally, this tour is an excellent way to entertain out-of-town guests, celebrate a special occasion or encourage professional team building.
Are the tours conducted in English only?
Yes, at the moment we can only offer tours in English, but you are welcome to arrange for an interpreter. Please note that if you are accompanied by an interpreter, they will need a full priced ticket.
Are cameras allowed on the tour?
Yes, cameras are permitted and we encourage you to take photos and/or video!
Is the tour wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes! We will do our absolute best to accommodate your needs.
Is there public parking available nearby?
There are a number parking garages within a few blocks radius of the meeting location. Street parking is also available but very limited. Please read all signs when looking for street parking to avoid getting ticketed. Specific parking and public transportation directions will be included in the meeting location details after purchasing tickets. We generally advise taking advantage of public transport or taking a taxi over driving in.
Is the tour guide licensed?
Does your NYC tour guide have the proper licenses to offer New York sightseeing tours? If you book a tour with New York Broadway Tours, you can rest assured that your tour guide is fully licensed by the Department of Consumer Affairs.

In New York City, it is illegal to give tours of any kind without a valid New York City Sightseeing Guide License. Unfortunately, it is far too easy for unlicensed guides to offer tours to unsuspecting visitors. Below are a few helpful things to know before you book a tour in NYC.

Why should you book a licensed guide?
Booking a tour (of any kind) with an unlicensed guide does a disservice to licensed tour guides who are working hard to follow the rules, but it also hurts the consumer. Licensed guides must pass a rigorous examination on New York City history, geography, architecture, food, culture, transportation, and more. You’re paying good money for a tour, so don’t you want to make sure your guide can provide insightful, accurate information?
What can you do to make sure your guide is licensed?
Can you recommend the best place to eat after each tour?
That’s a good question. With over 24,000 eating establishments in NYC, it’s really difficult to say what is best. Checking out the location beforehand online might be beneficial or you can try visiting sites like NYCTourist.com
Are dogs/pets allowed on the tour?
Like Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore who formed Broadway Barks, we also love dogs! We welcome dogs on our tours as long as they are on a leash and are well-behaved. If your dog becomes a problem, we may have to ask you to leave the tour. On our pub crawl tour, any pets must be kept in a carrier at all times when inside.
