BREAKING NEWS: We are just only 5 months away till The 74th Annual Tony Awards. With that in mind, we at New York Broadway Tours want to share the official schedule of events coming that has been revealed leading to Broadway's biggest night of the year. It is as follows…
APRIL 23RD, 2020: The official cut off date for shows to open on Broadway and be considered to get nominated. We have some great Plays and Musicals are getting their Opening Nights in this Spring.
APRIL 28TH, 2020: The announcement of this year's nominees!!! The revealing will be done that morning this year at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. In addition, the Tony Nominations announcement will be livestreamed on Facebook as well as appear on several news stations. Stay tuned these next few months as time gets closer on the 2 stars who will announce the nominations.
APRIL 30TH, 2020: The day after the lucky Broadway stars and creators celebrate with screams scream and freak out over being nominated, they will then head to a special meet n' greet with the press at the Sofitel New York Hotel.
MAY 19TH, 2020: The nominees gather for a special private luncheon at the legendary Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center/
JUNE 1ST, 2020: The recipients for this year's Tony Honors For Excellence in the Theatre, the Creative Arts nominees, and more will be honored at a private reception at the Sofitel New York.
Finally on JUNE 7TH, 2020, THE DAY IS HERE!!! The 2020 Tony Awards will be coming once again to us live from New York's famed Radio City Music Hall. It will also of course be aired in a 3 hour broadcast only on CBS. We'll be watching the best of Broadway celebrating the end of the 2019-2020 season, see some of our favorites stars and creators take on the glory, and spectacular live performances from some of this year's nominated shows (which we will soon found out who is taking center stage). The lineup of this year's host, presenters, and performers will be announced at a later date.
IN ADDITION: Beginning APRIL 25TH, 2020 which will be the 50 DAY MARK, we at New York Broadway Tours will once again launch our annual countdown extravaganza. We've done the TOP 20, TOP 30, and TOP 40 but now for this year, it's going to be our TOP 20 TONY AWARDS COUNTDOWN!!! Every morning, we will play some of our favorite performances from previous telecasts with fun facts and information about that show's life on Broadway past and present.
