Just like her character onscreen in Frozen, Tony Award winning powerhouse Idina Menzel has continued to feel uplifted and shares the ultimate love for her real life sister Cara Mentzel. 3 years ago, Cara wrote about her unforgettable bond with her powerhouse sister & journey in the best selling memoir VOICE LESSONS: A SISTER STORY.
Along with promotion for the book, Big Sister Idina brought little sister Cara into the recording studio to record their own rendition of the song NEVER NEVER LAND from Peter Pan. The song holds a very special place for both sisters that changed their lives forever. PETER PAN was both Idina and Cara's 1st major Broadway show they ever saw as young girls in Long Island. At the time they saw it (according to the book), they saw the 1979 revival of PETER PAN (starring Sandy Duncan).
Today, Cara Mentzel is an Elementary School teacher in Boulder, CO. At the time when COVID hit, she made her way to Los Angeles, CA to spend quality time with her big sister Idina and teaching Idina's own son Walker Nathaniel Diggs.
To expand their creativity, it was just announced on Variety that both Idina and Cara are in the works of writing a Children's Book. Cara is also making appearances on Idina's new YouTube children series IDINA'S TREEHOUSE teaching kids new words.
