It has just been officially announced that Emmy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award winner Julianne Moore will officially complete the cast for the highly anticipated film adaptation of the Tony and Grammy Award winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. The actress (known for her performances in Still Alice, Far from Heaven, Game Change, and so much more) will take on the role of the title character's struggling single mother and aspiring nurse "Heidi Hansen" (the Tony winning performance originated on stage by Rachel Bay Jones).

Oscar nominee Amy Adams as the struggling to be a perfect stay-at-home mother "Cynthia Murphy" (the role originated on stage by Jennifer Laura Thompson),
Veteran DEAR EVAN HANSEN Broadway cast member Colton Ryan taking on one of the key central parts he previously understudied…..troubled teenager "Connor Murphy" (The Tony nominated performance originated on stage by Mike Faist),
Acclaimed Actress and Singer Amandla Stenberg as High School brainiac "Alana Beck" (the role originated by Kristolyn Lloyd),
Acclaimed actor and comedian Nik Dodani as sarcastic High School nerd "Jared Kleinman" (the role originated on stage by Will Roland),
and
Danny Pino as "Larry" (the role originated on stage by Michael Parks) but will now be updated and written as the stepfather of "The Murphy Family".

The film adaptation of DEAR EVAN HANSEN will be released from Universal Pictures, produced by Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, and directed by Stephen Chbosky. It will feature the beloved songs from the musical plus some new ones as well by Pasek and Paul.
The stage version of DEAR EVAN HANSEN is expecting to be one of the many shows to return when Live Theater is back. It's expecting to continue to play at Broadway's Music Box Theatre, in London's West End at the Noel Coward Theatre, and on tour across America.
