LIGHTS UP on Lin-Manuel Miranda's new projects with THE MOUSE!!!! It has just been announced that the Hamilton and In The Heights creator & original star has several new works that he is collaborating with for Disney coming up. As many of us know, he's no stranger to working for Disney including his Oscar nominated film Moana and appearing in the movie-musical Mary Poppins Returns.

Miranda's new Disney projects will be providing the music for….

Encanto- A brand Animated film coming Fall 2021 and also reuniting the team behind the film Zootopia. Set in Colombia, the story centers on a girl who lives with a magical family there. However, she is the only one without powers. After working for 3 years on the project, the film is officially slated to hit Theaters November 2021.

Moana: The Series – A brand new Animated series based on the 2016 film which Miranda received his first Oscar nomination for the song HOW FAR I'LL GO. The TV show is a continuation of the story following Moana's life in her Polynesian Village. That is expecting to air somewhere between 2022 and 2023,

and

the previously announced Live Action film adaptation of The Little Mermaid – Miranda will team up with EGOT winner Alan Menken on several new songs for the film. It will all go with the legendary Oscar winning songs by Menken and the late Howard Ashman. No word has also been said if any of the Menken and Glenn Slater songs from the stage version will also be used.
