In celebration of Rent Live just 21 hours from now, we at New York Broadway Tours are proud to present throwbacks throughout the day of our favorite performances from the musical's incredible history. As many of you know, the late Jonathan Larson's Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning musical RENT was the groundbreaking Broadway show of the 90's which was at that time younger audiences were coming to New York City and experiencing Live Theater. Let's start out at the very beginning with the Pro-Shot reel featuring the original cast. This B-Roll was filmed during RENT's original 1996 Off Broadway run at the New York Theatre Workshop right before it transferred to its 12 year home at the Nederlander Theatre. For the original cast (who experienced that horrific day from hell when Jonathan Larson passed away and brought RENT to GLORY), it was the job that launched their Broadway careers.
