RENT THROWBACKS: One of the most historical moments in RENT's incredible history happened in 1996. On a dark Monday on Broadway, the entire original cast took a field trip to the Windy City of Chicago to perform the show's anthem SEASONS OF LOVE at that year's Democratic National Convention (yup the year when Bill Clinton was elected President of the United States).
The Clintons would later go see the show live on Broadway a few months later for Chelsea Clinton's Birthday. People who attended that evening's performance had to go through the entire process whenever the President shows up at a major event including dealing with the secret service .
