BREAKING NEWS: The original film star of The Band’s Visit himself Sasson Gabai is set to make his Broadway Debut in the now Tony winning BEST MUSICAL adaptation of the same name later this month, The Israeli born actor will be reprising his role from the film as “Tewfiq” (the conductor is the Egyptian Police Band that gets sent to the wrong town) on stage. He will begin performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on June 26th, 2018.
Gabai succeeds Dariush Kashani (who took over earlier this Spring from its now Tony winning original star Tony Shaloub) is set to take his final bow on June 24th, 2018.
