Apparently there was a change within the cast lineup from last night's NBC telecast of ONE NIGHT ONLY: THE BEST OF BROADWAY. One of the performances that was lined up was a special from the cast of Rent. Many people heard of the performance thinking it was the cast of the upcoming 25th Anniversary Farewell Tour of the show.
However, the RENT performance featured a full lineup of familar notable Broadway veterans performing the show's anthem SEASONS OF LOVE. That lineup included….
Tamika Lawrence (alumni of the 2011 Off Broadway revival of RENT along with Broadway's If/Then, Come From Away, and Getting The Band Back Together) singing the female solo part,
John Eric Parker (alumni of the original Broadway production of RENT along with Broadway's The Book of Mormon, Memphis, and All Shook Up),
Nina Lafarga (Original Broadway casts of In The Heights, On Your Feet, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, and was last seen in Disney's Frozen),
Caroline Bowman (former "Elphaba" of Broadway's WICKED, the original cast of Kinky Boots, and was starring as "Elsa" in Disney's Frozen on Tour),
Austin Colby (Off Broadway's Jersey Boys and was appearing as "Prince Hans" opposite his own wife Caroline Bowman herself in Disney's Frozen on Tour),
Nicholas Ward (Disney's The Lion King and Frozen along with various New York City Center Encores shows),
and
Bre Jackson (Broadway's The Book of Mormon, the recent revival of The Color Purple, and also seen in NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar Live).
We apologize for the misunderstanding information on the actors. However, that lineup of talent you saw during that performance was truly sooooooooooooooooo powerful.
