BREAKING NEWS: Sierra Boggess Official dropped out from an upcoming concert production of West Side Story at London’s Royal Albert Hall (part of the BBC Proms series).
The beloved Broadway and the West End star was supposed to play the lead role of “Maria” in this one night only concert. However, the announcement of Boggess’ casting led to a huge uproar of backlash via Social Media because of the role being Caucasian instead of Puerto Rican.
