There's always excitement and anticipation in the air that comes to the revealment of the Tony nominations. However on this day, Broadway fans also share their love and appreciation for some of the shows that were snubbed from getting a nomination. Only 15/18 shows from this year's short lived 2019-2020 season were recognized.
Only the main biggest disappointment from the fans was The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical being snubbed from getting any nominations in the Musical categories especially for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE, and BEST LEADING ACTOR IN A MUSICAL (for Chris McCarrell). Despite that production being a strictly limited engagement last year and mixed reviews, it still earned a cult following.
The biggest highlight for all Theater fans is Broadway heartthrob Aaron Tviet getting nominated as BEST LEADING ACTOR IN A MUSICAL. He also made history as the only actor to get the category.
Thoughts?
Which shows are you most happy that got nominated?!!
