BREAKING NEWS: 3 time Tony nominated book writer Thomas Meehan passed away today at the age of 88. He is the genius co-writer behind the script of the most beloved shows written for Broadway including Annie, The Producers, Hairspray, Young Frankenstein, Chaplin The Musical, and most recently ROCKY Broadway.
In addition, Meehan made Broadway history as the only book writer to have his 3 time Tony winning books run for over 2,000 performances on Broadway in it’s original run. That’s ANNIE (2,377 performances), THE PRODUCERS (2,502 performances), and HAIRSPRAY (2,642 performances)
Your words will live on.

DISCOVER THE BEAUTY UNDERNEATH! Announcing the full company of the US National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies (the acclaimed musical sequel to The Phantom of the Opera).
Headlining the cast will be Gardar Thor Cortes as “The Phantom” (a role he originated in the German production of LOVE NEVER DIESmarking it the first time he will sing the score in English and was supposed to play the masked man in the first PHANTOM in Paris with Sierra Boggess Official),
Soprano Meghan Picerno (currently appearing at “Cunegonde” in the New York City Opera’s production of CANDIDE) as ‘Christine Daae”,
Karen Mason (Broadway’s MAMMA MIA!, Hairspray, Wonderland the Musical) as “Madame Giry”,
Mary Michael Patterson (former “Christine Daee” in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera) will now move up to playing the former Paris Opera ballerina turned Coney Island prostitute “Meg Giry”.
Sean Thompson (recently in the Broadway revival of Sunset Boulevard) as “Raoul Vicomte de Chagny”,
and Casey Lyons and Jake Miller sharing the role of “Gustave” (the 10 year old son of “Christine” and “Raoul”).
In addition, Katrina Kemp, Richard Koons, and Stephen Petrovich will play the Phantom’s henchmen of Coney Island themselves, “Fleck”, “Squelsh”, and “‘Gangle,”
The US Premiere Tour of LOVE NEVER DIES is set to kick off in Utica, NY next month. This production will be based on the acclaimed 2011-2012 Australian production (that was also captured on DVD).

Discover THE BEAUTY UNDERNEATH as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies is finally making it’s North American Debut this Fall. The acclaimed musical sequel to Webber’s long running smash hit The Phantom of the Opera will official launch it’s US World Premiere National Tour in Baltimore starting October 3rd, 2017.
This production will reunite director Simon Phillips and choreographer Graeme Murphy bringing the acclaimed 2011-2012 Australian production (now on DVD) to North America.

It’s been long rumored with teases back as early as 2015 that Andrew Lloyd Webber’s PHANTOM sequel was heading our way. Now according to an Equity casting notice, a North American tour will launch from Baltimore on October 3, 2017. Auditions will begin in March.
