With Tony Award winner Laura Benanti joining as the new leading lady of the Award win

With Tony Award winner Laura Benanti joining as the new leading lady of the Award winning Lincoln Center Theater revival of My Fair Lady on Broadway, we just found out that the actress will be doing 7 performances a week. According to an Instagram slideshow post, there has been a scheduling change for the 2 rotating actresses playing the iconic leading role of “Eliza Doolittle”.

Beginning October 30th, 2018, “Eliza Alternate” Kerstin Anderson will switch from playing Sunday matiness (alternating with the production’s original leading lady Tony nominee Lauren Ambrose) now to TUESDAY EVENINGS (at the time Benanti joins the cast).

As previously announced, Laura Benanti will begin performances in MY FAIR LADY starting October 23rd, 2018 and will play a limited engagement through February 17th, 2019 at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. In addition, Lauren Ambrose will take her final bow on October 21st, 2018.

Thoughts on the new “Eliza” schedule and cast changes?

Laura Dreyfuss Leaving ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ for New TV Project

Dear Fansens,

Today is a bittersweet day as the Broadway company of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Dear Evan Hansen says farewell to another beloved original cast member…. Laura Dreyfuss.

The Broadway veteran and former Glee star takes her final bow at the Music Box Theatre after an incredible 2 1/2 year journey. Dreyfuss has been with the show since some of its early readings, workshops, and its world premiere productions (in Washington D.C. at Arena Stage, Off Broadway at Second Stage Theater, and Broadway). However for Dreyfuss, she has more exciting things coming her way including a new TV job lined up. No word has been announced on when that will be airing.

Following Dreyfuss’ final bow, we are so excited about the lineup of actresses taking over the role of “Zoe Murphy” (the love interest of the title character).

From July 17th through 29th, 2018, the role will be performed 8 times a week by Dreyfuss’ standby Olivia Puckett.

From there starting July 31st, 2018, 18 year old Houston girl and newcomer Mallory Bechtel will become the new “Zoe Murphy” fulltime.

Congrats Laura on and incredible 2 1/2 year journey and delivering a powerful and haunting performance. Happy Trails!!

Break a leg Olivia and Mallory. We know both of you will make Laura really proud and making the role of “Zoe Murphy” your very own.

Show Clips – BANDSTAND, Starring Laura Osnes and Corey Cott – YouTube

BAND BROKEN UP! Today, we also bid farewell to another amazing show here on the Great White Way. The Award winning smash hit original 40’s musical Bandstand Broadway (starring Laura Osnes and Corey Cott) will SWING out of Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre following a total of 190 performances.

The show had a wonderful journey from New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse to Broadway despite disappointing ticket sales. However, do not call this show a NOBODY because it’s going to have an exciting life after the final curtain goes down here today on Broadway. A US National Tour is in the works along with the producers teaming up with Samuel French, Inc. who will be holding the rights to the show for schools, community, and regional theaters everywhere.

What’s also very special about BANDSTAND was how it honored our American veterans who have helped served our country.

Happy Trails to the entire cast, crew, musicians, and creative team of BANSTAND. Congrats on an amazing run.

Can’t wait for this sure to come back and we’ll say WELCOME HOME!
