According to multiple reports, a blackout due to a transformer fire in midtown Manhattan on Saturday evening has resulted in power outages in the Hell's Kitchen, midtown Manhattan, Times Square and Upper West Side areas of New York City.

BREAKING: Manhattan Concert Productions Brings THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL To Lincoln Center

BREAKING NEWS: Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) has announced that it’s next concert staging of a Broadway Musical will be… Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton’s cult classic…. THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.

Directed by Tony winner Jeff Calhoun, Musical director by Jason Howland, and accompanied by the New York City Chamber Orchestra (featuring over 200 performers), this one night only concert is set for February 18th, 2018 at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center.

Set in 18th Century England and France, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL (based on Baroness Orczy’s legendary 20th Century novel) tells the tale of a British Nobleman who develops a secret identity to battle the forces of evil during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution. The musical features some beloved songs including YOU ARE MY HOME, PRAYER, INTO THE FIRE, and WHEN I LOOK AT YOU.

Earlier this past Sunday night, Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) put together a one night only concert staging production of the classic Tony winning Gershwin musical Crazy For You in honor of the show’s 25th Anniversary since it’s Broadway Debut. The concert was held at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center.

For this concert production, it featured Susan Stroman recreating her Tony winning choreography from Broadway plus directing the concert presentation. It featured an all star cast including…

2 time Tony nominee Laura Osnes (Cinderella the Musical, upcoming Bandstand Broadway),

Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck (On The Town – The Musical Comedy Classic, Finding Neverland – The New Musical),

Stage and screen legend Mark Linn Baker,

Saturday Night Live favorite Rachel Dratch,

Tony nominee Nancy Opel (Urinetown, Cinderella the Musical),

and much more.

CRAZY FOR YOU (which is an updated version of GIRL CRAZY) opened at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre in 1992 and ran for 1,622 performances. It was nominated 9 Tony Awards that same year winning for 3 including Best Musical.
