Lin-Manuel Miranda joining ‘In the Heights’ cast for 10th anniversary reunion at BroadwayCon

NO ME DIGA! In honor of it’s 10th Anniversary, Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda and members of the original Broadway cast of In The Heights are reuniting at BroadwayCon this year.

The IN THE HEIGHTS reunion will be a live Q&A panel moderated by Lin-Manuel Miranda’s father Luis Miranda featuring appearances by…

Miranda (who wrote the show?s music and lyrics and created the role the show’s main character himself bodega owner “Usnavi”),

Tony Award winner Karen Olivo (who originated the role of salon working dreamer and the love interest “Vanessa”),

Tony Award nominee Olga Merediz (who originated the role of Washington Heights’ beloved friend and mentor whenever you needed her “Abuela Claudia”),

Javier Mu?oz (original ensemble, understudy and later replacement for “Usnavi”),

and musical director Alex Lacamoire.

More guests will be announced soon.

Long before Hamilton: An American Musical, Lin-Manuel Miranda made his breakout debut with creating his own musical inspired his own life IN THE HEIGHTS (exploring 3 days in the life of residents living in New York’s most beloved neighborhoods Washington Heights, Manhattan). He began writing the show in 1999 during his Sophomore year of college at Wesleyan University mixing Latin, hop hop, and rap into one show. Following over 7 1/2 years of readings and workshops, the show had it’s world premiere Off Broadway at 37 Arts Theatre (now Baryshnikov Arts Center) and the response was crazy. From there, the show went on to Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre where it ran for 1,213 performances winning t 4 Tony Awards in 2008 including Best Musical and the Grammy Award. From there, IN THE HEIGHTS has went on to present productions across America, London’s West End, Japan, Philippines, and around the world.

No word on which date exactly will be the IN THE HEIGHTS panel reunion. BroadwayCon 2018 is set for January 26th through the 28th, 2018 returning to the Javis Center.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Will Star in Hamilton in Puerto Rico | Playbill


BREAKING NEWS: Award winning composer, writer, rapper, singer, and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda is returning to Hamilton: An American Musical. He will reprise his performance of the title show when the show will play a strictly limited engagement in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2019.

This engagement will mark as Miranda’s first time reprising his performance as “Alexander Hamilton” since leaving the production back in 2019. And he did promise he will return and made this role a part he can’t age out of.
