GET READY to go CLOUD 9 as AIN’T TOO PROUD is heading to the Great White Way. The new show featuring the music of the Temptations will be coming into Broadway’s Imperial Theatre (currently the home of the revival of Carousel on Broadway through September 16th, 2018) beginning this Spring 2019.
AIN’T TOO PROUD tells the story and features the music of the acclaimed successful group during the Motown era The Temptations. It follows their rise to success from the streets of Detroit to making it in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The show will feature many of their greatest hits including MY GIRL, AIN’T TOO PROUD TO BEG, JUST MY IMAGINATION, PAPA WAS A ROLLING STONE, and much more.
The show comes from the creative team behind Jersey Boys including 2 time Tony winner Des McAnuff and choreography by Tony nominee and Olivier winner Sergio Trujillo. The show will also feature a book by Dominique Morisseau along with new arrangements and musical direction by Kenny Seymour.
It previously had a world premiere run Berkeley Repertory Theatre back in the Fall of 2017 and sold out Pre-Broadway runs in Washington D.C. and currently in Los Angeles, California.
No word on dates when the show will exactly begin performances or who from the previous engagements will be part of the Broadway cast.
