The film is set to be released in Movie Theaters everywhere on December 20th, 2023 from Warner Bros. Pictures!!!
As previously mentioned, the new movie musical will be directed by Blitz Bazawule (Beyoncé's BLACK IS KING) and co-produced by Quincy Jones, Scott Sanders, Steven Speilberg, and Oprah Winfrey (the official # 1 COLOR PURPLE fan that iconically played "Sofia" in the original 1985 film and produced BOTH stage productions on Broadway).

This afternoon, Warner Bros. announced release dates for several of its upcoming features, including the musical film adaptation of Alice Walker's The Color Purple which is set to open on December 20, 2023.
