FIRST LOOK: One of the most talked about shows in Live Theater right now is happening across the pond in London's West End. It's the highly anticipated stage musical adaptation of the Oscar winning Animated film The Prince Of Egypt. It's still playing in previews to sold out crowds every night at London's Dominion Theatre. The official Opening Night is next Tuesday, February 25th, 2020. Check out below the behind the scenes journey of the show's road to the West End.

The Prince Of Egypt features an original score by Tony, Grammy, and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz (WICKED, Godspell, Pippin, Rags, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and more) and a book by Philip LaZebnik. It's a musical adaptation of the Exodus story (a.k.a. The 10 Commandments) centering on "Moses", a Hebrew newborn who was saved by the Egyptian royals, leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt, and receiving The 10 Commandments. It features some of the most beloved songs written for the big screen that will be heard on stage including DELIVER US, ALL I EVER WANTED, THROUGH HEAVEN'S EYES, and the Oscar winning WHEN YOU BELIEVE. In addition, Stephen Schwartz also wrote 10 new songs for the show.

The stage musical adaptation had its official World Premiere at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley in Mountain View, California back in 2007. It also was performed in Danish at the Frederica Theatre. 2 years ago, it was performed at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts.

Acclaimed West End leading lady Alexia Khadime (The Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables, and The Book of Mormon) as the independent, strong, and brave Hebrew slave plus tender, loving, caring, and warm sister of "Moses" herself "Miriam",

Joe Dixon as the wicked, icious, cold, and cruel Pharaoh of Egypt himself "Seti",

Debbie Krupp (London's Chicago The Musical and Sister Act) as the tender, loving, ruler of Egypt "Queen Tuya",

Gary Wilmot (West End's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as the good-natured, caring, faithful, and optimistic High Preist and Father of "Tzipporah" himself "Jethro",

Adam Pearce (West End's Les Miserables, Love Never Dies, and Urinetown) as the cunning magician of Egypt "Hotep",

Tanisha Spring (West End's THRILLER LIVE and Beautiful – The Carole King Musical) as one of the Royal Wives of Egypt herself "Nefertari",

Silas Wyatt-Barke Aaron (West End's The Go-Between) as the self-reliant, hardworking, and cowardice brother of "Moses" himself "Aaron",

and a full Ensemble.

Talks are also being made for the production to also go to Broadway if the production does really well. No official announcement for a Broadway run has been made officially yet.
