THIS JUST IN: The filmed performance of the London company of the Tony winning Lincoln Center Theater revival of The King and I the Musical officially released the date for its US release. It will be released worldwide the same day as the previously announced UK release for 2 nights on November 29th, 2018 and then an Encore engagement on December 4th, 2018.

The West End production of THE KING AND I was filmed a few weeks ago in front of a sold out audience at The London Palladium (where it continues to run there through September 29th, 2018). The filmed performance will feature its 3 original principals from the Broadway company reprising their roles on the London stage for the big screen. They are…

Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as the strong, powerful, and tyrannical “King of Siam”,

Tony winner Kelli O’Hara as the beloved strong-willed and widowed English Schoolteacher “Anna Leonowens”,

and back on stage after the horrific tragedy she went through this past March, Tony Award winner Ruthie Ann Miles as the loving head-wife “Lady Thiang”.

The filming of the London production is a makeup since the Broadway production was not filmed for PBS’ Live From Lincoln Center (as most previous productions from Lincoln Center Theatre were recorded for that series).

For those who weren’t able to see the acclaimed production of this iconic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that played the Vivian Beaumont Theatre for 538 performances or see the National Tour or London companies, this is your chance.

Who is excited?!
