I DON’T NEED ANYTHING BUT YOU! Grammy and Emmy winner and Tony nominee Harry Connick Jr is set to join the cast of NBC‘s upcoming live televised presentation of the legendary Annie this Holiday season. The legendary Jazz and Broadway star will take on the role of NYC’s legendary depression billionaire “Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks”.
For Connick Jr. playing this iconic role is a dream come true. He steps into the shoes of the unforgettable talents that have brought this role to life both on stage and screen. “Warbucks” is a beloved character that of course becomes the stepfather of “Annie”. The role was originated on Broadway by Reid Shelton. It has later been done so well by Conrad John Schuck (who played the role the longest on Broadway and on tour across America), Harve Presnell, Rhodes Reason, Anthony Warlow, Albert Finney (in the 1982 film), Victor Garber (the 1999 TV movie), and more.
Connick Jr joins the previously announced Oscar and Emmy nominee Taraji P. Henson who will take on the role of the wicked “Miss Hannigan”. The new live production is expecting to star a newcomer performer taking on the titular role of the spunky red-headed orphan that will be found through a virtual nationwide casting call.

Rehearsals for the new live production begin this Fall 2021.
Annie Live is set for December 2nd, 2021 on NBC. It promises to show the world that THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW. It’s going to be the ultimate celebration of the return of Live Musicals with everything making its way back to normal.
