BREAKING NEWS: She wants more ADVENTURE IN THE GREAT WIDE SOMEWHERE!!! For the first time in 24 years, Tony Award nominee and California native Susan Egan will be reprising her legendary breakout performance as “Belle” in an upcoming outdoor Regional production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in Thousand Oaks.
The production (produced by 5-Star Theatricals) will be staged at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza from July 20th – 29th, 2018.
Egan has been part of the journey of Beauty and the Beast 25 years ago almost as part of the show’s world premiere run at the Theatre Under The Stars in Houston, Texas before opening it on Broadway a few months later at the Palace Theatre. She stayed with the New York production for a year and then went on to open the first sit-down production of the show in Los Angeles. Her performance as “Belle” earned her a 1994 Drama Desk Award and Tony nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical.
