BREAKING NEWS!! THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT is back!! Full casting has been announced for the return of Broadway’s legendary longest running smash hit The Phantom of the Opera. What an incredible talented company bringing this iconic show back to Broadway it is.
Still keeping the tradition alive with the original direction of the late Hal Prince, choreography by the late Gillian Lynne, and the full 30 piece orchestra of the show in its entirety, the Broadway cast will feature returning cast members….
Ben Crawford as the titular role of the man behind the half white mask himself,
Meghan Picerno who made her Broadway debut with the show and came directly from the World Tour company continuing as the young ballet girl turned opera star herself “Christine Daaé”,
Broadway favorite John Riddle as the dashing and handsome suitor “Raoul, Vicomte De Changy”
Broadway veteran Bradley Dean as Opera manager ‘Monsieur André,’
Craig Bennett as Opera manager as “Monsieur Firmin”,
Raquel Suarez Groen as PRIMA DONNA herself “Carlotta Giudicelli”,
Maree Johnson (who previously appeared as “Christine” in the original Australian company of PHANTOM) as stern but casting ballet mistress “Madame Giry”,
Carlton Moe as no non-sense and always struggling Opera tenor “Ubaldo Piangi”,
and
a Full Ensemble.
New to the Broadway company will include….
Sara Etsy (previously appeared on Broadway and the National Tour of An American In Paris) taking on the role of the superstitious and loving ballerina “Meg Giry”
and
Emilie Kouatchou (who previously appeared Off Broadway in Unknown Soldier) serving as the new alternate for “Christine Daaé”. She will also be making history as the first black actress ever to play the role on Broadway. She’s also the 2nd black actress in the show’s history following Lucy St. Louis who is playing the role now in London.
Also joining the company as part of the Ensemble as a dancer is going to be Tony Award winner Justin Peck (a former New York City Ballet dancer and choreographer for the recent Broadway revival of Carousel and the upcoming film remake of West Side Story).
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is set to haunt Broadway’s Majestic Theatre on October 22nd, 2021.
Who is excited?!!!
