NO ME DIGA! These next few days, we at New York Broadway Tours are gonna be posting a lot of NON-STOP throwback videos dedicated to the world of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit In The Heights in honor of the highly anticipated new film out this week.

What an unforgettable journey Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s powerful story has taken with its success on Broadway and productions around the world. Little throwback to 13 years ago this month when In The Heights took home glory as the 2008 Tony Awards. The show of course won 4 out of its 13 nominations including BEST MUSICAL.

STOMP – The Rhythm of New York

New York is waking up to its usual FUNKY URBAN SOUNDS and making its way back to normal. Here in our Theater scene, there is one show that celebrates those sounds of the Big Apple….. The Award winning Off Broadway smash hit Stomp returning this Summer!!!

To get us back into the mood, check out this all new promo commercial as the cast finally leaves their houses and brings those Percussion beats back to the stage of Off Broadway’s Orpheum Theatre in the East Village.

STOMP officially resumes its Off Broadway run beginning July 20th, 2021. It will also mark as the first MAINSTREAM Off Broadway show to return.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY: We are just 5 Days way from the release of the highly anticipated film adaptation of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit In The Heights. For the film’s star Anthony Ramos, he is no stranger to stepping into the role of the beloved bodega owner “Usnavi”, the role created and originated by Lin-Manuel Miranda (which they both previously starred together as Father and Son in Hamilton‘s original cast).

Jessica Vosk Will Host Opening Night NY Philharmonic Concert at Bryant Park | Playbill

BREAKING NEWS: Broadway favorite Jessica Vosk (WICKED‘s 15th Anniversary Green Girl, Finding Neverland, Fiddler on the Roof, and Becoming Nancy) has been tapped to emcee the OPENING NIGHT concert of the New York Philharmonic‘s set of free outdoor shows in Bryant Park next week. This concert on the Picnic Lawn of Bryant Park is part of an exciting celebration this Summer as we welcome back the return of Live Performances in the Big Apple.

Watch the First Music Video from Tony Winner Cynthia Erivo’s Debut Solo Album

SHE’S HERE!!! It’s been 4 years in the works and now Tony Award winner and Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo is set to FINALLY come out with her long awaited debut album this Fall. The album entitled CH 1. VS 1 will be released September 17th, 2021 via Verve Records.

In support of her new album, The Color Purple powerhouse most recently just debuted a music video for her new single THE GOOD. You can check it out right now.

CH 1. VS 1 is one of many exciting projects Cynthia Erivo has on her belt coming out later this and next year. As previously announced, she will be releasing her first Children’s book entitled REMEMBER TO DREAM, EBERE on September 28th, 2021. Her other upcoming projects will also include starring and producing a new film about the life of Sarah Forbes Bonetta, a role in the new Apple TV series GLOW (with Nicole Kidman) and the new movie musical Talent Show. She will also be starring as “The Blue Fairy” in Disney’s upcoming Live Action remake of Pinocchio.
