Today is an exciting ROYAL DAY Broadway Fans. Not only, its the first day of October but we celebrate the release of the highly anticipated filmed proshot of the new musical
Diana on
Netflix. This is your chance to experience this powerful new show before it returns to Broadway in front of a live audience next month.
This proshot of DIANA was recorded last Summer on the stage of show’s Broadway home at the Longacre Theatre (even while Broadway was still shutdown). Thanks to an approval from
Actors’ Equity Association and following extreme ongoing COVID-19 safety protocols, the company were able to reunite and film the show. Sadly, there is NO live audience since Broadway has been shutdown.
In case anyone may not be familiar or remember what DIANA is all about, it centers on the life of “Diana, Princess of Wales”. It follows her journey from Kindergarten Teacher, marrying “Charles, Prince of Wales”, and their scandalous divorce. The musical reunites the creative masterminds by the Tony winning smash hits
Memphis and
Come From Away. It features an original score and book by Joe DiPietro and
Bon Jovi‘s
David Bryan. Under the direction of Christopher Ashley, the cast is led by…
Broadway and West End star Jeanna de Waal in the titular role of “Princess Diana”,
Roe Hartrampf in his Broadway Debut as “Prince Charles”,
Broadway favorite Erin Davie as “Camilla Parker Bowles”,
2 time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye as “Queen Elizabeth”,
The show originally had its world premiere in 2019 at
La Jolla Playhouse before going through another full year of early development labs in gearing the show for Broadway.
At the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, DIANA had just begun previews on March 2nd, 2020. However, it ran for only a week and a half before being abruptly shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 12th, 2020. The official Opening Night was set for March 31st, 2020.
Now that Live Theater and Broadway is back, the show will be returning. If you enjoy this proshot, this will give you a possible idea to see the show LIVE on stage. DIANA will resume Broadway previews on November 2nd, 2021 and will have its long awaited Opening Night on November 17th, 2021 at the Longacre Theatre.
Who is excited?
How amazing is this proshot?!!

BREAKING NEWS: Disney’s smash hit
Aladdin will resume performances this evening at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre.
This announcement just came following a recent report of last night’s 2nd performance being cancelled due to COVID-19 cases rising at the longtime Disney smash hit musical.
The team at
Disney on Broadway mentioned that their extensive protocol system in testing their employees and identify positive cases worked. It was able to allow them to act up immediately to contain those cases. Given the thoroughness of the COVID-19 protocols and a vaccinated workforce, the full company remains confident that the environment is safe for the full cast, crew, musicians, creative team, and the audience.
Members who work for
Disney Theatrical‘s companies are required to be fully vaccinated. Within the last 24 hours, everyone was given 2 ROUNDS of COVID-19 testing…. consisting of one rapid PCR and one lab based-PCR which have shown no new breakthrough cases in the company of
Aladdin.
We send our love, prayers, and thoughts to the company of ALADDIN. Have a safe and healthy show back tonight.
Everyone keep following those COVID-19 protocols.
