METROPOLITAN OPERA and IATSE make a deal ending lockout / strike!!

BREAKING NEWS: Stagehands at New York’s famed Metropolitan Opera are officially set to head back to work beginning tomorrow. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 300 crew members were on strike and locked out due a disagreement over how long and lasting pandemic payment cuts would be. However, the lockdown has officially ended with a deal thanks to the IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) Local One Union this past Saturday. Check out more information below about the deal.
The sounds of angelic music from New York’s Metropolitan Opera will once again be heard once again this Fall.

Amanda Kloots releases memoir LIVE YOUR LIFE on life with Nick Cordero

1 year ago…. the Theater world lost an unforgettable rock star powerhouse from this horrible spread of the coronavirus…. Nick Cordero. He was 41 years old. A few days ago, his wife Amanda Kloots (now a co-host on The Talk) recently released her first memoir celebrating Nick’s unforgettable life and legacy entitled LIVE YOUR LIFE. The book is now available online and in a bookstore near you topping the charts as an acclaimed best-seller.
LIVE YOUR LIFE has been the mantra of the late Nick Cordero that stills live on in Amanda, the full family, all the friends, and his fans. It’s also the name of an original song Nick recorded and last year was the title of his debut and live album from Feinstein’s/54 Below which topped the charts at # 1.
Nick Cordero as the Broadway star was known for playing some of the hottest bad boys on the Great Bright Way including…..
originating the titular role in the World Premiere of The Toxic Avenger.
Dennis” in his Broadway debut in Rock of Ages,
“Cheech” in Bullets Over Broadway (which he both earned him a 2014 Tony Award nomination for BEST FEATURED ACTOR IN A MUSICAL and where he met his wife Amanda),
“Earl” in Waitress,
and
was last seen as “Sonny” in A Bronx Tale The Musical.
We miss you Nick!
What a life.
What a legacy.
Gone too soon.

ON THE MARQUEE: Court is ready to get back in session here on the Great Bright Way this Fall. Aaron Sorkin’s Award winning play adaptation of Harper Lee’s best selling novel To Kill a Mockingbird is set to relaunch its Broadway run. When it returns, Bartlett Sher’s powerful production (now produced by Orin Wolf) will welcome back Tony nominee & Emmy winner Jeff Daniels reprising his portrayal of “Atticus Finch”. In addition, Celia Keenan-Bolger will reprise her performance as “Scout Finch” that earned her a 2019 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
One of our friends was so wonderful to share with us these amazing photos of the lights back on outside the show’s home of Broadway’s Shubert Theatre. In addition, the front of house lights are updated to welcome back Jeff Daniels to the production.
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD will reopen on Broadway beginning October 5th, 2021. Meanwhile, its US National Tour and London companies are set to debut beginning Spring 2022.
Who is excited to see this incredible show back on Broadway?!!
