ON THE MARQUEE: We got so much WORD ON THE STREET from many of our friends sharing their photos and things they’ve heard for us to share.
We are soooooo happy to announce that both 44th Street’s THEATRE CIRCLE and ONE SHUBERT ALLEY are officially set to re-open their stores beginning this September 2021. For many of you that have taken our walking tours, this is one of our many favorite HOT SPOTS we visit. Both these shops are known for have the best pieces of Broadway merchandise you could ever want They have everything from…..

Cast Albums,
Key-Chains,
Theater related books,
Show Souvenir Programs,
Scripts,
and
so much more.
The shop collects all the main merch from all the current running shows…… especially for those who ran out of money and/or those who forgot to buy their merch at the Theater when you saw the show.
An official date for both stores to re-open this September will be announced soon.

THE RHYTHM OF NEW YORK is back!!! The long running Award winning smash hit Stomp officially reopened Off Broadway at the Orpheum Theatre. It also marks as the first major Off Broadway show to re-open for the first time in 16 months since being shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After last night’s re-Opening Night (which was met with a thunderous standing ovation from the sold out crowd), the cast woke up early this morning to bring their urban funky sounds on Good Morning America. If you just woke up now, check out the performance below.

Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell to headline solo concert at Lincoln Center part of RESTART STAGES this Summer!

LOOK AT YOUR LIFE THROUGH HEAVEN’S EYES!! All Summer long, Lincoln Center is bringing the magic of Live Theater and Performances with its RESTART STAGES program. So many performances coming from the worlds of classical musical, jazz, and of course our very own Broadway scene. One of those many performances to come will be a breathtaking evening inspiring us TO REACH THE UNREACHABLE STAR with Tony Award winning Broadway favorite Brian Stokes Mitchell.
The angelic baritone will present a new cabaret show entitled OUT WITH THE OLD from July 21st-23rd, 2021 before returning for an encore engagement from August 12th-14th, 2021. With his trio (led by Tedd Firth), the evening will feature a full diverse selection of Great American Songbook standards and Broadway favorites by this breathtaking talent. You can expect Stokes as well to perform notable hits from his legendary career including RAGTIME and MAN OF LA MANCHA.
Since we are still coping with ongoing COVID-19 pandemic safety precautions, there will be a limited amount of seating for this free concert. You can’t just show up though. TodayTix will be doing a virtual lottery for FREE TICKETS on each night Brian Stokes Mitchell will be performing. They are welcoming both people who have been vaccinated and also those who haven’t yet (which will require people to social distant and wear their face mask).
We’re also sure for a face one of the concerts will be livestreamed as well. Stay tuned for more information on that.

Broadway Musical adaptation of THE KARATE KID in the works!!!

BREAKING NEWS: A new musical adaptation of the acclaimed martial arts film The Karate Kid is heading for the Great Bright Way!!! According to an Actors’ Equity Association casting notice, the production will have a World Premiere Out-Of-Town tryout Spring of 2022. No word though has been said where or when the Pre-Broadway tryout run will be or exactly when its coming to the Big Apple.
In case anyone may not know or have forgotten, THE KARATE KID is based on the 1984 Columbia film of the same name. Set in Newark, New Jersey, the story follows a young teenager who is taught how to defend himself against the school bullies by an eccentric, but kind and humble Okinawan karate instructor. The original film was a huge smash, it become an acclaimed franchise with several sequels, a remake, and a TV series.
This new musical will feature….
a book by the film’s screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen,
an original score by Drew Gasparini,
a set design by Tony and Emmy winner Derek McLane.
directed by Amon Miyamoto,
and
choreographed by MTV Video Music Awards nominees Keone & Mari.
