DID YOU KNOW: The song THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s longest running acclaimed musical The Phantom of the Opera was originally entitled MARRIED MAN. Webber wrote it originally for Sarah Brightman when they first met and were married at the time. Most of Webber’s songs we all know today were all recycled from songs he just wrote for fun. When he started working on the score for PHANTOM, he used that one song that would be sung by the title character to the role of “Christine Daae” (which Brightman also originated).

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sarah Brightman were married in 1984 till they split in 1990. Today, they are still close friends. They first reunited in Public since their divorce in 1997 when Brightman filmed her first major PBS concert from the Royal Albert Hall on her Timeless Tour and then Webber 50th Birthday concert there. They also reunited numerous times at Phantom’s big birthday milestones.

Since it stupidly got deleted 😉 Enjoy this lovely performance of the original Music of the Night.
