FLASHBACK FRIDAY: When something on Broadway is the talk of the town, that show ends up becoming a huge topic for spoofs and parodies.
A great example was in the movie TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker (creators of South Park and our very own The Book of Mormon on Broadway). The film featured no major actors but all R-Rated supermarionettes. At one point in the film, there was a parody of Grease and Jonathan Larson’s beloved musical Rent entitled LEASE.
