ON THE MARQUEE: Disney’s Award winning phenomenon The Lion King is preparing to celebrate its 29th Roaring Anniversary in the Big Apple this Fall. In true spirit of the Pride Lines, the long running hit show recently released a new set of billboard ads in celebration of this next milestone.

The new billboard ads features new production photos decked out all over the city and the front of house of the show’s home at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre. The photos in front of the theater features current stars….

South African native Mduduzi Madela, who recently stepped into the role of “Simba” fulltime,

Longtime cast member L. Steven Taylor continuing in the role of “King Mufasa”,

South African native Pearl Khwezi continuing on in the role of “Nala”,

Tony nominee Gavin Creel in the role of the menacing “Scar”,

&

Ntsepa Pitjeng-Molebatsi as “Rafiki”.

The billboard ads also includes new taglines based on some of the beloved song lyrics from the show including HE LIVES IN YOU and CIRCLE OF LIFE.
