Broadway is EASY TO LOVE! Get ready to experience the music of Cole Porter in a whole new way as the musical adaptation of the classic 1953 film Roman Holiday is heading to Broadway. However before hitting NYC, the show will have a World Premiere pre-Broadway tryout in San Francisco at the Golden Gate Theatre from May 23rd through June 18th.

ROMAN HOLIDAY (which starred Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck on screen) is a modern Cinderella story about a princess who plays hooky from her royal duties for 24 hours with a reporter. The original film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards in 1954 winning 3 including Best Actress (for Hepburn).

The musical will feature classic Cole Porter hits including NIGHT AND DAY and EV’RY TIME WE SAY GOODBYE. The book is written by Kathy Speer, Terry Grossman, and Paul Blake and will be directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful – The Carole King Musical).

In addition, it’s Principal lead actors have been announce including Stephanie Styles (recently on the First National Tour of Newsies) and Drew Gehling (Broadway’s Waitress the Musical, Jersey Boys) will star in the iconic roles of “Ann” and “Joe” (played by Hepburn and Peck in the film). Also appearing in the cast will be Tony nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Jersey Boys) and Sara Chase (TV’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Broadway’s First Date The Musical, and real life cousin of our very own Michael).
