BREAKING NEWS: THE CANDY MAN is coming to a city near you! As previously announced, the musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is hitting the road with it’s first National Tour and casting has already been announced.
Starring in the lead role of the magical, genius, and beloved chocolate making magician himself “Willy Wonka” will be Broadway veteran Noah Weisberg (Broadway’s Legally Blonde, the recent revival of South Pacific, and last seen on the Great White Way in Elf The Musical).
In addition, casting has been announced for the lucky boys who will be starring the title role of “Charlie Bucket”. The role will be alternated for 3 rotating sets consisting of…
10 year old Henry Boshart (last seen in the National Tour of Fun Home The Musical),
11 year old Collin Jeffery (last seen in the National Tour of Kinky Boots The Musical),
and 11 year old Rueby Wood.
The new National Tour of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOALTE FACTORY is set to bring PURE IMAGINATION to a city near you. The tour kicks off next month, September 2018 in Buffalo, NY before making its way to numerous cities all across North America.

YOU GET NOTHING, YOU LOOSE, GOOD DAY SIR!!! Due to dissaspointing low ticket sales, the musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is set to close on Broadway on January 14th, 2018 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Following it’s final bow, the musical will have played 27 previews and 305 regular performances on the Great White Way.
However, THE CANDY MAN is coming to bring PURE IMAGINATION to a city near you as the show will launch a US National Tour this Fall 2018.
So sad to see a great show close but CHEER UP CHARLIE. The show will live on across America and many productions to come.

OOMPA LOOMPA, DOOMPA DEE DOO, I GOT ANOTHER ALBUM FOR YOU!! The Broadway premiere of the West End hit Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (currently in previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre) is set to release a cast recording of the Broadway cast (led by 2 time Tony winner Christian Borle) from Masterworks Broadway. The new cast album will be available digitally June 2nd, 2017 and hit stores on June 23rd, 2017.
This will mark as the 2nd cast album of the CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACOTRY musical. The 1st one came out in 2013 of the West End production (which was led by Tony and Olivier Award winner Douglas Hodge) from Sony Classical Records.
CHARLIE features a score by Tony winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman plus songs from the original 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley (including the iconic PURE IMAGINATION).
For the Broadway production, songs from London were either cut or have been rewritten. In addition, one of the biggest changes for Broadway is that more of the beloved songs from the classic 1971 film were put into the show (including I’VE GOT A GOLDEN TICKET, THE CANDY MAN, and THE OOMPA LOOMPA SONG).
Opening Night for CHARLIE AND THE CHOCHOLATE FACTORY is also set for April 23rd, 2017.

PURE IMAGINATION is almost here on Broadway. The marquee for the upcoming Broadway premiere of the musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is almost here.
The show which was a triumph in London’s West End and making its way overseas (starring 2 time Tony winner Christian Borle as Willy Wonka) will begin preview performances on March 28th, 2017 and officially open on April 23rd, 2017 at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre.
