For those who were watching the CBS telecast, the whole audio was shut off. Now you can hear exactly what De Niro said before he introduced THE BOSS himself Bruce Springsteen. Thoughts?

10 years ago today, the original production of Spring Awakening Broadway made it’s debut on the Great White Way at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. The Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater rock musical became well known as the breakout show for many of it’s original stars including…

Lea Michele (Glee, Scream Queens),
Jonathan Groff (Glee, Frozen, Hamilton: An American Musical),
Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect, Hamlet 2, Glee),
Phoebe Strole (Glee, Hamlet 2),
Lauren Pritchard (now going as a solo artist by LOLO),
and more.

SPRING AWAKENING came to Broadway after an initial sold out run at Atlantic Theater Company. It moved to Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre for 888 performances total. It was nominated for 11 Tony Awards winning 8 including Best Musical. Following it’s Broadway run, 2 National touring companies of the original production came along afterwards. The most recent revival (which originally was a 2 year stint from Deaf West Theatre) played Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre for a limited engagement of 152 performances. The revival was well known for having the deaf actors sign the show for the hearing actors while the hearing actors sang the score live. It was nominated for 3 Tonys this year including Best Revival of a Musical but lost all it’s categories. A film version is still in the works.

ALL SHALL KNOW THE WONDER for the next 10 years or more of SPRING AWAKENING!!!

Doesn’t this musical make you want to rock out, jump up, and scream?!
