Tony Awards Fallout: ?Sweat,? Allison Janney?s ?Six Degrees? to Close


BRING ON THE TONY QUITTERS: Due to low ticket sales and walking home empty handed with 0 trophies at this year’s Tony Awards, 2 of this year’s acclaimed nominated plays already set their final performances.

This Sunday, June 18th, 2017, the acclaimed revival of John Guare’s SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION on Broadway (starring Allison Janney) will play it’s final performance at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre following a total of only 84 performances. The show was supposed to play a limited engagement till July. In total with it’s original production of 485 performances (that was also a Tony nominee and a runner up as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama), SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION has played a total of 569 performances on the NY Theatre scene.

Next Sunday, June 25th, 2017, the Pulitzer Prize winning play SWEAT on Broadway will close at Studio 54 following a total of 129 performances. This play came to NY from an acclaimed Off Broadway run at the The Public Theater. Up next for the show will be productions worldwide.

These shows will be missed and congrats on a successful run.
