One of the most talked about upcoming films scheduled to be released this summer is Disney's live action / photorealistic computer-animated remake of one of the groundbreaking films we all grew up loving…. The Lion King. The soundtrack for the new film has been released today digitally and physical copies will be released on July 19th, 2019 (the same day that the new remake will be released).
The soundtrack features new renditions of the iconic Elton John, Tim Rice, and Lebo M songs we all grew up loving sung by a full all-star cast including the voice talents of….
Award winning singer and actor Donald Glover as "Adult Simba",
Florence Kasumba, Keegan-Michael Key, and Eric Andre as the laughing hyenas themselves "Shenzi", Kamari (in place of Banzai), and Azizi (in place of "Ed"),
and more.
In addition, some of the original recordings from the 1994 film have been recycled for the new 2019 remake of the iconic film including Lebo M's famous opening chant that starts the film. Meanwhile, the voice for the opening song "Circle of Life" will be sung by Lindiwe Brown MkhiZe (former "Rafiki" in the stage production of The Lion King both on the National Tour and London's West End).

FIRST LISTEN: She’s currently wowing sold out crowds and DEFYING GRAVITY as Broadway’s current 15th Anniversary Green Girl in WICKED The Musical. Now, Jessica Vosk is gearing up to release her long awaited Debut Solo album WILD AND FREE this upcoming month.
The Broadway favorite (who also appeared in The Bridges of Madison County Musical, Finding Neverland – The New Musical, and the most recent revival of Fiddler on the Roof) took to social media to give everyone a first taste of one of the tracks of the album… her rendition of Pasek and Paul’s A MILLION DREAMS from The Greatest Showman.
As previously mentioned, Vosk’s debut album is expecting to feature a selection of Musical Theatre favorites, Pop, Rock, and more. It was all put together from the donations of family members, friends, and fans of the acclaim performer on her Kickstarter page. All the donated money was to help raise the funds for the Studio Rental, Engineering, Producing Fees, Musician Fees, Mixing & Mastering, Artwork, Manufacturing, and more. She spent a year and a half recording the album following her run on the current and 2nd National Tour of WICKED (better known as The Munchkinland Company).
WILD AND FREE will be released from on August 10th, 2018 from Broadway Records. It will be available to download and purchase in stores near you. In addition, the album is expecting to be available at the WICKED on Broadway Merchandise Booths at the Gershwin Theatre.

McPhee will be making her long awaited Broadway Debut as the lead role of pregnant pie maker “Jenna” in the Tony and Grammy nominated musical. She will play a strictly limited run from April 10th, 2018 through June 17th, 2018 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
The show’s composer and current leading lady Tony and Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles will take her final bow this Sunday, March 11th, 2018. Following Bareilles’ final performance and leading up to McPhee’s first performance, the role of “Jenna” will be performed and alternated by understudies Stephanie Torns and Molly Jobe.

FIRST LISTEN: Disney on Broadway continues to give fans a sneak peak of 4 of the 12 new original songs written for the Broadway stage musical adaptation of the Oscar winning Animated film Frozen. The score is written by film’s Oscar winning composers Kristen Anderson Lopez and her 2 time Tony winning husband Bobby Lopez (Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon on Broadway).
This 2nd new song is performed by Patti Murin (Broadway’s Lysistrata Jones) who stars as the enthusiastic and brave young princess “Anna” and newcomer Jelani Alladin as the always kept to oneself ice harvester turned true love interest “Kristoff”. It’s a new original comic relief duet in the first act called WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT LOVE. In the scene “Anna” and “Kristoff” are crossing an icy mountain but along the way they get into a brief argument about marrying someone 1 day after you met them.
