BREAKING NEWS: More pies for the doctor. Grammy winner Jason Mraz has once again extended an additional 2 weeks of his run on Broadway in the smash hit Waitress the Musical as “Dr. Pomatter”. He will now stay with the production at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre through February 11th, 2018. Following Mraz’s departure, original cast member Drew Gehling will once again return to the role.
With Mraz joining, he will now have a full 4 week run co-starring alongside his BFF and the show’s Grammy and Tony nominated composer Sara Bareilles as “Jenna” who stars January 16th, 2018 (performing with Mraz till February 11th, 2018 and then will continue with the show through February 25th, 2018).
Tonight, the show’s current leading lady Betsy Wolfe will bake one final pie at Joe’s Diner.

Starting November 3rd, 2017 for a limited 10 week run, Mraz will replace original leading man Drew Gehling in the role of the sexiest doctor in town himself “Dr. Pomatter”.
Yesterday, Mraz met up with the press and gave fans a special speak peak mini concert of him (along with the show’s current leading lady Betsy Wolfe) performing some of the show’s beloved songs written by it’s Tony and Grammy nominated composer Sara Bareilles.

BREAKING NEWS: It’s official. We are LUCKY to have a new doctor in town. 2 time Grammy Award winner Jason Mraz is set to make his Broadway Debut this Fall in the smash hit Waitress the Musical.
He will take over the role of “Dr. Pomatter” for a limited 10 week run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre starting November 3rd, 2017 all the way through the start of the new year (2018). The show’s original leading man Drew Gehling is expecting to depart the Sara Bareilles these next few weeks. No official date was announced yet.
Mraz is no stranger to the music of WAITRESS after lending his vocals to Bareilles demo album for the musical WHAT’S INSIDE: SONGS FROM WAITRESS which they performed their rendition of the musical’s showstopper BAD IDEA.
BroadwayWorld has learned that pop star Jason Mraz will be making his Broadway debut in the hit musical WAITRESS later this fall. ‘Mr. A-Z’ will succeed Drew Gehling as Dr. Pomatter in the Sara Bareilles musical.
