Tony nominee Norm Lewis to play 7th annual holiday residency show at Feinstein’s / 54 Below!!

BREAKING NEWS: Along with returning to Broadway in his first play Chicken and Biscuits this Fall, Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis announced the return of his annual holiday concert residency at Feinstein’s/54 Below with a LIVE AUDIENCE.
This year’s show entitled THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is set for December 16th-24th, 2021.
Under the direction of the Broadway man himself Richard Jay-Alexander and accompanied by a full swinging band (led by Joseph Joubert) the celebrated Broadway star will perform a full selection of holiday favorites (from his album THE NORM LEWIS CHRISTMAS ALBUM), Broadway favorites, and tons of surprises.

DELICIOUS NEWS: Full casting has been revealed for the upcoming Broadway debut of Douglas Lyons’ new comedy play Chicken and Biscuits. Under the direction of Zhailon Levingston making history as the youngest Black director in Broadway History at age 27, the cast will be led by…..
Broadway favorite NaTasha Yvette Williams (Broadway’s Waitress) as “Brianna Jenkins”,
Cleo King (Mike & Molly) making her Broadway debut as “Baneatta Mabry”
and
Devere Rogers making his Broadway debut as “Kenny Mabry”.
The cast will also feature several actors who appeared in the World Premiere production of this play last year at the Queens Theatre That engagement abruptly cut short by 2 weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic That will include…..
Ebony Marshall Oliver as “Beverly Jenkins”,
Aigner Mizzelle as “La’trice Franklin”,
and
Alana Raquel Bowers as “Simone Mabry”.

Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis (Les Miserables. The Little Mermaid, Porgy and Bess, The Phantom of the Opera, and Once On This Island) in his first straight play / non-musical role as “Reginald”

Acclaimed stage and screen star Michael Urie as “Logan”.
In case anyone may not know, CHICKEN & BISCUITS is a raucous family comedy centering on The Jenkins, a dysfunctional family coming together celebrating the life of their father without killing anyone. However everything changes when the Grandson invites his boyfriend into the picture.
The production begins previews September 23rd, 2021 and will officially open on October 10th, 2021.

Norm Lewis and Michael Urie to star in new play CHICKEN & BISCUTS on Broadway this Fall!!

BREAKING NEWS: Broadway is making its way back this Fall. Not only we have the popular classics, we got some new promising exciting shows coming as well. The latest is Douglas Lyons’ new feel good comedy CHICKEN & BUSCUITS. Originally set to debut Off Broadway in 2020, it will now make its way ON Broadway playing the Circle in the Square Theatre this Fall. Previews are set to begin September 23rd, 2021 and will officially open on October 10th, 2021.
Under the direction of Zhailon Levingston, the cast will be led by….
Tony Award nominee and Broadway favorite Norm Lewis (Les Miserables, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera, and last seen on Broadway ironically at Circle in the Square in Once On This Island) in his FIRST ever straight play / non musical role on Broadway
and
Emmy nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Broadway’s How To Succeed, Off Broadway’s Buyer & Cellar, and TV’s Ugly Betty).
In case anyone may not know, CHICKEN & BISCUITS is a raucous family comedy centering on The Jenkins, a dysfunctional family coming together celebrating the life of their father without killing anyone. However everything changes when the Grandson invites his boyfriend into the picture.
With CHICKEN & BISCUITS going into Circle in the Square Theatre, it also means that the Broadway revival of American Buffalo sadly been postponed. No word has been said if the production will be pushed for the Spring with CHICKEN & BISCUITS being a limited run.

BREAKING NEWS: So many of Broadway’s best are set to take center stage at New York’s most legendary concert venue of them all….. Carnegie Hall. One of the many acts coming in the Spring of 2022 is Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis in a concert with The Hall’s resident Orchestra themselves…..The New York Pops set for March 4th, 2022 at 8pm.

Under the Baton of Maestro Steven Reineke, Lewis will perform with the Pops with a program celebrating the return of Broadway and Live Theater. You can expect Norm to perform many songs from his unforgettable career on the Great Bright Way including Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, and of course The Phantom of the Opera (where he became the first African American actor to star as the title role in the Broadway company).

Despite this past year alone being really rough, Lewis (who has performed at the Hall various times in the past) continued to share his unforgettable voice giving us the spirit of hope. Now, the Big Apple is beginning to wake up.
