Get ready to go ROLLING ON THE RIVER!!! A musical about the life of the acclaimed QUEEN OF ROCK N’ROLL herself Tina Turner is making it’s way to the stage. The new show Tina The Musical will make it’s World Premiere debut in London’s West End at the Aldwych Theatre. Previews will begin on March 21st, 2018 and opening night set April 17th, 2018.
The show will feature direction by Tony nominee Phyllida Lloyd (MAMMA MIA!), a book by Olivier winner Katori Hall, choreography by Anthony van Laast, set and costume design by Mark Thompson, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbec, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg and orchestrations by Ethan Popp.
TINA tells the untold story of Anna Mae Bullock and her to rise to fame in the 60’s becoming the legendary Tina Turner. Plus it explores her horrifying relationship between with Ike Turner (who domestically abused her). The show will feature all of Tina’s Greatest hits including PROUD MARY, WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO, RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH, and much more.
No word has been announced if the show will also make it’s way to Broadway yet.
