GOOD MORNING BROADWAY FANS! Broadway’s MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is tomorrow. We are talking about The 90th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicking off the holiday season with a bang. It is time for the #1 Broadway performance on our TOP 20 BROADWAY AT THE MACY’S PARADE COUNTDOWN.

The #1 performance on our countdown is another one of Broadway’s current (and long running smash hits). If you think you know the story of the witches from The Wizard of Oz, think again. Get ready to really understand the truth about the witches and they’re not what you think they are as we know them from the story. This is of course Stephen Schwartz’s Award winning and International smash hit WICKED The Musical.

We have 2 performances from the bewitching cast in both the NBC and CBS telecasts.

First, from the 2003 NBC telecast, Tony winners Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel as Glinda and Elphaba (the roles that made them breakout Broadway stars) along with the original Broadway cast enjoy sightseeing in Harold Square (The Emerald City) with ONE SHORT DAY.

Second, from the 2005 CBS telecast, future Tony nominee Megan Hilty as (the 3rd Broadway replacement) Glinda and Shoshana Bean as (the 1st Broadway replacement) Elphaba perform the show’s powerful and emotional 11:00 number FOR GOOD (prerecorded) at the beautiful Belevedere Castle in Central Park.

WICKED opened on Broadway the day before Halloween in 2003. It recently just celebrated its 13th spellbinding anniversary last month. It continues to play to sold out and packed houses every night at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre, on tour across America, and Internationally.

Isn’t WICKED one of the most beloved bewitching musicals of all time?

FUN FACT: In the NBC performance, Kristin Chenoweth is wearing this specially created blue dress for the performance instead of the yellow attire (that Glinda usually in the show). It was 30 degrees freezing outside during that performance and everyone had to bundle up. Kristin looks great in it and something that Glinda would wear for the holiday season.
