HELLO BROADWAY FANS. Some of you are probably waking up either excited or grumpy from the results of the election but that won’t stop us being happy with the 90th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade only 15 days away as we continue our TOP 20 BROADWAY AT THE MACY’S PARADE COUNTDOWN.
At # 15 on our countdown, we are living the life of New York City present day. 2 random strangers meet for the first time on a blind date and never know what could happen afterwards. This is the cult smash hit First Date The Musical.
From the 2013 CBS telecast from the stage of the Longacre Theatre, Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez as the blind date couple (Aaron & Casey) and the company perform a medley of the show’s opening number THE ONE & the finale number SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST.
FIRST DATE played Broadway’s Longacre Theatre for a total of 208 performances. The show is being performed in schools, community, regional theatres, and around the world.
FUN FACT: Our very own Michael has a cousin who was part of the original cast. Her name is Sara Chase (she played Casey’s sister Lauren, Aaron’s mother & late Grandma Ida, & others). She now appears as Cyndee on the hit Netflix TV series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. However in this performance, she was out. Performing in Chase’s track (girl in the blazer & jeans) is Vicki Noon (an ex-Elphaba in WICKED The Musical on Broadway & The National Tour).
