WHAT’S THE BUZZ: In case anyone didn’t see it during the Superbowl, check out the all new promo commercial for NBC’s upcoming first ever Spring edition of a LIVE televised musical which will be Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tim Rice (Official)’s legendary rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.
As previously announced, this televised production will star Grammy Award winner John Legend as the title role, Tony and Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles as “Mary Magdalene”, and legendary rock star Alice Cooper as “King Herrod”.
This live televised musical is actually a one night only concert production that will be filmed in front of large audience at the Marcy Armory in Brooklyn.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE is set for to go live on the air on April 1st, 2018 (Easter Psalm Sunday).
