Broadway has done it again for an amazing cause. This past Sunday, Theatre Development Fund (TDF) once again presented another special autism friendly performance of Disney’s Award winning smash hit and 3rd Longest Running show The Lion King – Musical at the Minskoff Theatre.

For those who don’t know, since 2011 TDF produces Autism Friendly performances of smash hit Broadway shows for those men, women, and children living with the autism spectrum. Each show teams up with an autism specialist and they figure out what scenes that are intense and scary (especially with wild strobe lights, loud bangs, or noises) should be toned down. Plus, several scenes with dialogue where an actor is supposed to shout at someone, they make it nice and soft. It’s all friendly and less scary. In addition, volunteers help out to give relaxation tips and tools. It’s really important to help those need & especially those with disabilities. The best part is they usually will keep the house lights on or dimmed the half the whole time.

The next Broadway shows expecting to present autism friendly performances will be the following….
