Disney on Broadway‘s welcome back concert LIVE AT THE NEW AM officially closes today after a successful weekend engagement at the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre. This performance was met with RAVE reviews from both critics and theatergoers so happy to be back in a Broadway Theater. Throughout the weekend, there have been some really awesome highlighted moments.
During LIVE AT THE NEW AM’s opening night performance earlier this past week, Disney and Broadway fans got the ultimate impromptu surprise.
Aladdin‘s original Tony winning “Genie” himself
James Monroe Iglehart was plucked from the audience and performed with current Broadway “Genie”
Michael James Scott on a showstopping rendition of FRIEND LIKE ME.
Congrats to the full cast, crew, musicians, and creative team of LIVE AT THE NEW AM for a successful weekend engagement. We know for a fact that they’ve raised so much money as well for

ON THE MARQUEE: There’s so much changes and anticipation in the air for the return of Broadway in 2021. Lot of word on the street passed on by some of our amazing friends & followers keeping US on the loop of everything going on as we slowly aim for returning later this year. We have some news about everything happening on 44th Street.
First, one of our personal favorite HOT SPOTS in the Theater district is getting a little makeover just in time for Broadway’s comeback. According to a sign outside, the legendary famed
Sardi’s Restaurant is currently under a renovation project. The popular Broadway hangout spot is set to reopen its doors this Fall. We all know Sardi’s as a popular pre and post show hangout for all Theatergoers. Many of your favorite Broadway stars like to dine there. It’s notably home of the famous caricatures of some of your favorite Broadway artists who have made their mark. Last, but not least, it’s the birth place of the
Tony Awards. An official date of reopening will be announced soon.
Right next door to Sardi’s, an update has been made outside of Broadway’s Hayes at
Second Stage Theater. As previously announced, the acclaimed Theater company’s first new show set to be part of Broadway’s big return will be the debut of Lynn Nottage’s delicious new comedy CLYDE’S (starring Emmy winners
Uzo Aduba and Ron Cephas Jones). Previews begin November 3rd, 2021 and the Opening Night is set for November 22nd, 2021. It will run for a strictly limited engagement through January 16th, 2022.
