There is so much anticipation in the air for Broadway set to reopen its doors after over 17+ months being shutdown. With shows officially set to return, there are still some ongoing COVID-19 safety precautions that still need to be followed. The coronavirus is still out there so we still have to be extra careful.
All shows will be providing a healthy and safe environment for BOTH for your fellow Theatergoers along with for the Cast, Crew, Musicians, Creative Team, and everyone who works in the Theater. Many of these protocols will include….
still having to wear your face masks for the entire show (with the exception of the cast on stage or when Woodwind / Brass Musicians are playing in the pit),
increased cleaning and ventilation/filtration enhancements,
a COVID-19 vaccine or a negative test verification,
temporary elimination of the popular post-show stage door (for Theatergoers to meet members of the cast after the performance),
several shows temporary limiting to doing 5-7 SHOWS A WEEK but will return to the traditional 8 SHOWS A WEEK later on,
plans to refund / exchange your tickets in case an audience member gets sick.
Check out the list below on how each Broadway show will be following COVID-19 safety protocols when it returns.

BREAKING NEWS: There has been a change of heart for Kyle Dean Massey. It has just been announced that the Broadway favorite sadly will sadly NOT be continuing with the all new gender-swap revival of
Stephen Sondheim‘s
Company when it returns this Fall. However, it’s a very special reason…… the
WICKED and
Next to Normal star is expecting his first child along with husband Taylor Frey. FAMILY COMES FIRST!!!!
We are wishing Kyle and Taylor so much love, happiness, and excitement as they both become Fathers.
No word has been revealed on who will be replacing Kyle Dean Massey in the role of out-of-place New Yorker “Theo” (formerly “Kathy”) in COMPANY.
Marianne Elliott‘s critically acclaimed production of COMPANY (starring Tony winners
Katrina Lenk and
Patti LuPone) will resume previews on December 20th, 2021 and officially open on January 9th, 2022 at Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

BREAKING NEWS: As promised following a triumphant sold out limited engagement back in the Fall 0f 2019,
David Byrne‘s critically acclaimed show
American Utopia is returning to Broadway this Fall for a strictly limited ENCORE engagement. From Tony nominee Alex Timbers and choreography by
Annie-B Parson, the show will this time play Broadway’s St. James Theatre beginning September 17th, 2021.
Yup, AMERICAN UTOPIA will play the St. James Theatre following this summer’s limited engagement of
Bruce Springsteen‘s encore run of his acclaimed acoustic solo show SPRINGSTEEN ON BROADWAY. That show is set to run from June 26th-September 4th, 2021.
In case anyone have forgotten or may not know, AMERICAN UTOPIA is a unique Theatrical experience that combines music & theater enrolled into one. It features David Byrne performing songs from the album of the same name with an 11 piece barefooted band. It previously played an acclaimed limited engagement sold out run at Broadway’s
Hudson Theatre back in the Fall of 2019 where it ran for 14 previews and 106 regular performances. One of the performances was captured on film and aired on
HBO this past Fall 2020.
Our hearts are lighting up to see Broadway coming back to life!!!

For every Broadway fan out, we all grow up belting out our favorite showtunes thanks to the legacy of cast albums. However, most people do NOT know how much hard work and dedication it takes for all those involved with your favorite musicals in bringing the magic of 8 times a week onto a CD. Right now, we’re about to take you on the ultimate throwback journey.
Back in 2001,
PBS‘ Award winning series
Great Performances teamed up with the cast, crew, musicians, and creative team of
Mel Brooks‘ Award winning musical comedy
The Producers following their journey as they head into the recording studio to make their Original Broadway Cast Recording. The 90 minute documentary entitled RECORDING THE PRODUCERS was captured at New York City’s
Edison Recording Studio. You will be front row center watch showstopping performances from its Award winning stars Nathan Lane,
Matthew Broderick, Cady Huffman, Brad Oscar,
Roger Bart, the late Gary Beach, and more laying down tracks of your favorite songs from the musical adaptation of Brooks’ 1967 film of the same name including….
KING OF BROADWAY,
WE CAN DO IT,
I WANNA BE A PRODUCER,
WHEN YOU GOT IT, FLAUNT IT,
ALONG CAME BAILEY,
and
of course…… SPRINGTIME FOR HITLER.
It will also feature interviews with both the cast and creative team (including Brooks and director/choreographer Susan Stroman).
The Original Broadway Cast Recording of THE PRODUCERS was recorded on March 11th, 2001…. just a week and a half before they actually began preview performances on Broadway. The company had a full day off from tech rehearsals. and went straight into the studio.
The cast album was released a month after it was recorded and just 2 days before THE PRODUCERS actually had its official Opening Night. It went on to become a successful BOTH show and cast album.
Along with winning its recording breaking 12
Tony Awards, the cast album won a 2002
Grammy Award for BEST MUSICAL SHOW ALBUM.
The original Broadway production of THE PRODUCERS ran for 6 years playing 2,502 performances at the St. James Theatre.
How amazing was this documentary?
Any THE PRODUCERS fans?
Who has that original cast album of THE PRODUCERS?!!!

THE WORLD’S GONNA WAKE UP AND SEE….. BROADWAY’S BACK!! What an exciting celebration following the recent news of several states ending COVID-19 restrictions including here in New York City. To celebrate, why not a little Broadway showstopper!!
Last night, Broadway veteran and Pop singing sensation
Ariana Grande along with Tony winners
Marissa Jaret Winokur and
James Corden joined forces in person for a special musical tribute celebrating the world being free from COVID-19 lockdowns on
The Late Late Show. The song entitled NO LOCKDOWNS ANYMORE is a parody on GOOD MORNING BALTIMORE from
Hairspray (which both Winokur and Grande are no strangers to doing).
Who is excited to celebrate being Free?!!!
Who has gotten their COVID-19 vaccination?
Who can’t wait to see Broadway again?!!!!
