ON THE MARQUEE: With Live Theater back, things are getting back into the spooky groove in time for Halloween. One of the hottest tickets right now back is the current Award winning revival of Little Shop of Horrors (currently led by Jeremy Jordan, Tammy Blanchard, and Christian Borle).
Check out the updates on the front of house billboards outside the show’s home at the Westside Theatre. Getting us into the vibe of SKID ROW.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a notice outside the Theatre reminding all those who plan to see the production, sadly there is NO post-show stage door at this time. This is for all of SKID ROW’s health and safety. No ranting and NO FEEDING THE PLANTS!!!

BROADWAY ON TV: TINA rocks Good Morning America; First Look of new leading lady Nkeki Obi-Melekwe!!

‘Tina - The Tina Turner Musical’ cast performs 'Nutbush City Limits' and 'Proud Mary'
Yesterday morning, the company of the Tony winning and Olivier nominated smash hit Tina: The Tina Turner Musical celebrated their triumphant return to the Great Bright Way with a performance live on Good Morning America. Their performance also gave fans a special SNEAK PEAK of the Broadway production’s upcoming new leading lady starting next month….. Nkeki Obi-Melekwe as the QUEEN OF ROCK N’ ROLL herself.
Currently, Nkeki Obi-Melekwe is continuing to serve as the alternate for the role of “Tina Turner” playing mattinae performances. However, starting November 2nd, 2021, she will succeed the show’s Tony winning leading lady Adrienne Warren at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Warren’s final show is set for Halloween on October 31st, 2021.

MASQUERADE!!! Last night was truly the ultimate celebration of Live Theater making its triumphant come back on the Great Bright Way. Following last night’s historical re-opening night performance of The Phantom of the Opera, PHANS got the ultimate post-show surprise…… AN OUTDOOR BLOCK PARTY ON 44TH STREET. This was not just any masked ball for its reopening, it featured the show’s composer himself Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber serving as the DJ.

Broadway to celebrate legacy of Terrence McNally by bringing back Dimming The Lights tradition plus Tribute show next month

Broadway Theatres To Dim Lights In Memory Of Playwright Terrence McNally
BREAKING NEWS: With Broadway’s return all Fall long, it’s continuing to bring back many of our community’s ongoing traditions. One of the most notable is the dimming of all Theater marquees for 1 minute in tribute to those no longer with us. It will all be happening again starting November 3rd, 2021at 6:30pm. to honor the late 5 time-Tony Award winning legendary writer Terrence McNally on what would have been his 83rd Birthday.
Along with the dimming of the lights, the Broadway community will be putting together a special FREE one night only tribute show in honor of McNally’s legacy on Broadway. The program entitled A CELEBRATION OF LIFE is set for November 1st, 2021 at the Gerald Schonefeld Theatre (current home of Come From Away). It will feature readings, performances, and tributes honoring the immense impact McNally left here in the Big Apple. COVID-19 face masks and proof of vaccination will be required. Doors will open at 3:30pm.
For those who may not know, Terrence McNally passed away on March 24th, 2020 at the start of the pandemic due to COVID-19. He was 81. What an unforgettable legacy he has left on the Great Bright Way and the Theater community. Some of his iconic plays included…
