LET’S HAVE A PARADE!!! It has just been announced that New York’s legendary MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET will be happening with A CROWD OF THOUSANDS once again. We are talking about The 2021
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and just in time for its 95th Anniversary. This year’s annual landmark tradition that kicks off the start of the start of the holiday season is set for Thanksgiving Day Morning on November 25th, 2021 at 9am EST.
This will be the first parade in 2 years to have spectators in-person. In case anyone may not know, last year’s event was cancelled for experiencing LIVE IN PERSON due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it was done as a combination of a pre-recorded and live event on
NBC and
CBS without the crowds and not that many participants.
With the world starting to make its way back to normal, this year’s edition promises to make up for all that lost time. The parade will include all of its notable moments including…..
The Giant Balloons,
Spectacular Floats,
High Energy Clowns,
Spectacular Marching Bands,
Santa Claus,
some of the biggest names in show business (Film, TV, and Music),
of course our personal favorite….. the best of our Broadway scene,
and
so much more.
Participants will be announced at a later time.
The Parade will air traditionally both on NBC (in front of that famous
Macy’s Store in Herald Square on 34th Street) and on CBS (live from Times Square).
Who is excited to ring in THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR after a really tough year?!!

GOOD MORNING BROADWAY FANS!! The 74th Annual
Tony Awards is just 17 DAYS AWAY. We have more of your favorite legendary performances from previous telecasts coming up on our TOP 50 TONY AWARDS COUNTDOWN. This is getting us in the mood celebrating the return of Live Theater in the Big Apple.
At # 17 on our countdown, we travel to Israel in the year 1996. There, an Egyptian Police Band arrives there in a small quiet part due to a miscommunication for their initial destination. However the residents, let them stay for the night till they catch the bus the next morning and their lives change. This is
The Band’s Visit. With a score by last year’s Tony winner (and nominee again this year)
David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses, the show is based on an acclaimed 2007 Israeli film of the same name.
From the 2019 telecast, Tony winners Tony Shaloub as “Tewfiq”,
Katrina Lenk as “Dina”, and the company are chilling at a small Israeli cafe in Bet Hatikva dreaming of a certain movie star by the name of…. OMAR SHARIFF.
THE BAND’S VISIT was first conceived by producer Orin Wolf after seeing the original movie at a Film Festival in 2008. He was immediately moved by how the story was. A few weeks later, the film started coming back to him so often, he gave himself the courage to reach out to the film’s writer and director Eran Kolirin to adapt it into a musical. However, Kolirin at first refused at the idea. It wasn’t till something inside of him began to have a change of heart, he finally decided YES. From there, the development of the stage musical began going through several years of readings and workshops.
The show had its official world premiere OFF Broadway at the
Atlantic Theater Company in 2016. It received rave reviews and a huge word of mouth following from Theatergoers everywhere, the show officially transferred to Broadway a year later. The ON Broadway run played the Ethel Barrymore Theatre and most recently closed after 38 previews and 589 regular performances. Under the direction of David Cromer, the cast included…
Tony Shaloub (later Dariush Kashani and the film’s leading man
Sasson Gabai) as “Tewfiq”,
George Abud (later Samir Shukry) as “Camal”,
Adam Kantor as “Telephone Guy”,
Jonathan Raviv as “Sammy”,
The show was nominated for 11 Tony Awards winning 10 including BEST MUSICAL.
THE BAND’S VISIT is set to relaunch its ongoing North American National Tour. It initially launched in the Summer of 2019 before getting abruptly shutdown by the COVID-19 pandemic. It will continue to play across North America for a year.
Isn’t this musical so beautiful, laid back, relaxing, and intimate?

RAISE A GLASS and get ready to return to THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS! Next week, HISTORY IS HAPPENING for the inaugural Broadway company of
Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s
Hamilton as it relaunches its run here in THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD. With all of this in mind, the show will be re-launching its popular #Ham4Ham Lottery Rush. This is your chance to NOT THROW AWAY YOUR SHOT to the hottest phenomenon of them all.
It will be done once again as a DIGITAL LOTTERY raffling off a limited amount of $10 tickets for each and every performance through the show’s official AP. Starting now through tomorrow September 9th, 2021, they are raffling off tickets for the show’s historical RE-OPENING WEEK.
The official rules of the lottery will run like this….
1. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin on each Friday at 10am and close the following Thursday at Noon for the upcoming week’s performances.
2. Both winner and looser notifications will be sent between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances via email and mobile push notification. If you win, you have only 2 hours to claim and pay your tickets.
3. No purchase or payment necessary to enter or participate.
4. Each winning entrant may purchase up to 1 or 2 tickets.
5. You may enter every week only ONCE. Repeat entries and disposable email addresses will be discarded.
6. Winners can pick up their tickets at the Richard Rodgers Theatre Box Office beginning 30 minutes prior to the scheduled performance.
7. Patrons must be 18 years or older and have a valid, non-expired photo ID that matches the name used to enter. Tickets are non-transferable. Ticket limits and prices displayed are at the sole discretion of the show and are subject to change without notice.
8. Lottery prices are not valid on prior purchases. Lottery ticket offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. All sales final – no refunds or exchanges. Lottery may be revoked or modified at any time without notice. A purchase will not improve the chances of winning.
9. Since we are still coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, all patrons will be required to show proof they are fully vaccinated. If you haven’t gotten the shot, you need to show proof of a PCR COVID-19 test with a NEGATIVE result taken within 72 hours.
HAMILTON’s popular #Ham4Ham Lottery has been getting the buzz since the show’s triumphant success downtown at
The Public Theater. When the show made its UPTOWN move, over 700 screaming #HamilFans gathered outside the Richard Rodgers to get their hands on entering the show’s lottery rush for a limited amount of $10 tickets….. 21 FRONT ROW ORCHESTRA SEATS!!! The lottery obviously is well known as #Ham4Ham because of HAMILTON being about the 10 DOLLAR FOUNDING FATHER himself….. Alexander Hamilton.
At that first preview, the show’s creator and original star
Lin-Manuel Miranda was super overwhelmed by the response knowing for a fact the show will be a LONG RUNNING SHOW IN BROADWAY HISTORY indeed. At the same time, he and the entire HAMILTON family all came together to create a fun preshow tradition in not letting the
#HamilFans feel empty handed. There, The #Ham4Ham Show was born.
Before every drawing of the lottery ticket winners, Miranda (serving as the Emcee) and members of the cast began preparing and hosting outdoor mini-performances allowing lottery participants to experience a part of the show….. even if they lost. Later on during their run, Miranda and the cast would sometimes invite special surprise guests from Broadway favorites, cast members from other Broadway shows, and so much more.
With the response of HAMILTON’s popularity, the live lotteries would draw humongous crowds of people that created a fire hazard on West 46th Street (where the Richard Rodgers Theatre is located). With the crowds being insane, HAMILTON immediately switched and became the first Broadway show to do a now popular DIGITAL LOTTERY in January 2016. However on the first day of the Digital #Ham4Ham, more than 50,000 people entered and caused the show’s website to crash.
While the site crashing situation was being sorted out, the LIVE #Ham4Ham shows continued but was done before the Wednesday Matinee performances only. However those pre-Wednesday matinee crowds (especially when Spring and Summer 2016 came around) continued to grow even TITANIC sized crowds causing 46th Street to shut down.
Miranda continued hosting the #Ham4Ham show till the day he departed the Broadway production of HAMILTON on July 9th, 2016. Following his departure, Tony nominee Rory O’Malley (who succeeded Tony nominee
Jonathan Groff in the role of “King George III” fulltime at the time) took over as the #Ham4Ham Emcee.
With the TITANIC sized 46th Street crowds being out of control, the Live Lottery was forced to end on August 31st, 2016. It moved online ever since. For the Pre Raffle Entertainment, the cast ended up posting virtual live performances on the show’s social media.
An Encore edition of the Live
#Ham4Ham show happened on August 16th, 2017 in celebration of the official Opening Night launch of The 1st National Touring company (a.k.a THE ANGELICA TOUR) in Los Angeles. Upon Thousands of fans camped and gathered around LA’s
Hollywood Pantages Theatre with Miranda serving as the Emcee and a special performance from that original 1st National Touring cast.
HAMILTON will inspire the world once again to RISE UP starting September 14th, 2021 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

For those who may not know, BEAUTIFUL is the story of the rise to fame of legendary singer-songwriter
Carole King. It follows mainly her early journey in Brooklyn, NY during the 1950’s writing many of her legendary songs for singers, her relationship with
Gerry Goffin, the emotional divorce, and all up to winning the Grammy for her iconic album TAPESTRY. Notable songs include YOU’RE SO FAR AWAY, WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW, UP ON THE ROOF, ONE FINE DAY, IT’S TOO LATE, the title song, I FEEL THE MOVE, and the powerful YOU MAKE ME FEEL (LIKE A NATURAL WOMAN).
BEAUTIFUL was developed within the early 2010 era under the original title NATURAL WOMAN. Carole King initially did NOT approve of the idea of a musical on her own life being told on stage due to re-experiencing many of her personal situations on stage. However, she still got involved knowing what it’s all about. Without being noticed, King took part experiencing the early development readings and workshops in disguise. The show still got the green light to go. The show had its world premiere out-of-town tryout in San Francisco, CA at the Curran Theatre in the Fall of 2013.
In early 2014, BEAUTIFUL made its debut ON BROADWAY at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. It became an instant smash hit running for 6 years playing 60 previews and 2,418 regular performances. It holds the record as THE 2ND LONGEST RUNNING JUKEBOX MUSICAL IN BROADWAY HISTORY and the 27TH LONGEST RUNNING SHOW IN BROADWAY HISTORY. Under the direction of Marc Bruni and choreography by Josh Prince, the cast was led by….
Jake Epstein (later Scott J. Campbell, Evan Todd, and Cory Jeacoma) as “
Gerry Goffin“,
The show went on to be nominated for 7
Tony Awards that same year winning 2 for BEST LEADING ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL (for Jessie Mueller) and BEST SOUND DESIGN OF A MUSICAL (for Brian Ronan). The show’s original Broadway cast record also went on to top the charts and win a
Grammy Award in 2015 for BEST MUSICAL THEATRE ALBUM.
Carole King herself would see the show in its entirety but NOT for another 4 months after it opened on Broadway. On the day she did appear, the legendary singer-songwriter planned to appear at the show as a surprise for both the company and the audience. She originally showed up incognito wearing a wig, glasses, and full attire without getting noticed. At one point following the finale, King was escorted through a backdoor that led from the house to backstage. Following a brief quick change into herself, King walked onto the stage at the start of Jarrod Spector’s RED BUCKETS fundraising for
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS speech. Everyone in the sold out room at the Sondheim Theatre roared to their feet. She made a speech before briefly surprising the audience with an impromptu performance of YOU GOT A FRIEND with the cast and the audience singing along.
King would make surprise appearances at the show multiple times with all the major companies including during the 5th Anniversary performance. During that show on Broadway, Chilina Kennedy did NOT perform the final scene where “Carole” sings at
Carnegie Hall. Instead, the audience got the REAL DEAL sitting at the piano playing the title song LIVE!!!!! She would join Kennedy and the full cast for the curtain call singing I FEEL THE EARTH MOVE.
Along with its success here in New York, BEAUTIFUL went on to become an International smash hit with various companies around the world. It has been performed in London’s West End (where it won 2 ACTING
Olivier Awards), in Australia, and several touring productions both here in the United States and the United Kingdom.
At the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, BEAUTIFUL had just relaunched this brand new touring company after the Broadway production closed. It originally began 2 years ago traveling across North America before abruptly getting shutdown on March 12th, 2020 in Lafayette, LA.
The casting from that touring company consisted of….
Kathryn Boswell as “Cynthia Weil”,
James Michael Lambert as “Barry Mann”,
Matt Loehr as “Don Kirshner”,
Rachel Coloff as “Genie Klein”,
and more.
No word has been said on the new cast that will relaunch the tour.
Who is ready to once again FEEL LIKE A NATURAL WOMAN?!!!
