WAY DOWN Broadway!!! Last night, the magic returned for the Tony and Grammy Award winning smash hit Hadestown. Anais Mitchell‘s hottest pop-folk opera reopened at the Walter Kerr Theatre to a thunderous screaming sold out crowd. From the minute the cast walked out onto the stage to the curtain call, it featured non-stop standing ovations.
We are still an emotional from seeing all the footage from last night’s historical re-opening of the musicals.

Ladies and Gentlemen, after a record-setting Intermission of over 18 months, BROADWAY IS BAAAAACK!!!!! The lights have dimmed to half and the curtain has just went up once again on the Tony and Grammy nominated smash hit Waitress (starring its composer Sara Bareilles). Get your tissues out now for what you’re about to see!!!
We are an emotional mess watching this video that went up on the show’s social media of those first few moments consisting that immediate RE-OPENING NIGHT standing ovation, an updated preshow announcement reminding us now to WEAR OUR FACE MASKS the entire show, Bareilles’ opening pre-show song reminding us all once again to….. TURN OFF OUR CELL PHONES, the lights going down, and the magic officially back!!!

Despite the crazy flooding weather, the Tony and Grammy winning Hadestown experienced their first performance back with an audience last night!! Prior before tonight’s official re-opening, the Broadway company held a special INVITED DRESS REHEARSAL performance for family, friends, and industry. The highlighted moment was at the very end. Get your tissues out before watching this.
Following the curtain call, the show’s legendary Tony winning standout cast member André De Shields (who plays “Hermes”) surprised the audience with a special rendition of Kander and Ebb’s legendary theme from NEW YORK, NEW YORK. The cast and standing audience at the Walter Kerr Theatre all sung along.

BREAKING NEWS: According to Broadway Artists Alliance, they have just forward a really exciting audition opportunity for all you youngsters out there wanting to be on the Great Bright Way, Jillian Cimini of Carnahan Casting is looking for a young talent to play the role of “Noah Gellman” in the upcoming Broadway transfer of the Olivier Award winning West End revival of Caroline, Or Change this Fall!!!
As of now, the role is expecting to be alternated by Jonah Mussolino and Jaden Myles Waldman. However, they are still looking for an understudy and a replacement just in case.
For those who may not know, the character of “Noah” plays a huge part in the story of CAROLINE OR CHANGE. He is the 9 year old son of “Stuart Gellman” (played by Tony nominee John Cariani) and “Rose Stopnick Gellman” (played by Caissie Levy). Very shy and forgetful. However to keep him distracted, he turns to the maid “Caroline” (played by Olivier Award winner Sharon D. Clarke) for wisdom.
In the original production, the role was originated both OFF and ON Broadway by Harrison Chad.
There will be an in-person audition this upcoming Tuesday, September 7th, 2021. However, it will be done by appointments. So be sure to submit your headshot and resumes as seen in the post below between now and September 6th, 2021.
Rehearsals will resume on September 13th, 2021.
CAROLINE OR CHANGE will run at the legendary Studio 54 for a strictly limited engagement. Long awaited preview performances will begin on October 8th, 2021, the official Opening Night is set for October 27th, 2021, and will run till February 13th, 2022. An extension may be possible if the show does well.
This revival was originally slated to begin previews on March 13th, 2020 and open on April 7th, 2020. However, the plug got pulled on the whole production as Live Theater was forced to abruptly shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
